Absolutely true. Johns just gets it. Little things like the Rage Cat spewing blood all over everything is just one of the reasons why people love the comic medium.

Imagine a Legion of Super Pets throwdown with Rage Cat. Toss in Ch'p and G'Nort just as cannon fodder. Beppo and Streaky get wasted right away, as does G'Nort. It'd eventually come down to Krypto and Comet trouncing the living hell out of Rage Cat, with C'hp limping away, bloodied and maimed. Sorry, blood-vomiting cat with power ring does not trump Kryptonian dog and horse.

Make a new Legion of Super-Pets with Krypo the Superdog, Ace the Bat-Hound, Streaky the Super-Cat, Comet the Super-Horse, Beppo the Super-Chimp, Detective Chimp, Tawky Tawny (And his jetpack), G'nort, Ch'p and Rex the Wonder-Dog. And then have them all battle Rage Cat, who has now assembled his own Secret Society of Super-Pets with... well, the writer can invent the most awesome new villains along the lines of Ragecat. And watch as the comic industry hits one million sales per issue once again!

Rage Cat would definitely have Gorilla Grodd on his team, though there wouldn't be a hell of a lot of teamwork going on. It could be an inter-company crossover with Lockjaw accidentally crossing dimensions and bringing Valkyrie's horse with him, maybe that raptor from Runaways and Zabu.

I saw an online livejournal community called, "BashWars" today, where they had a fan voting tournament with entrants pitted against one another.

One of the guys in it picked Dex-Star, and the guy running the tournament seeded him #2 in his bracket! Pretty solid!

And then he lost in the opening round, to... I kid you not... Eugene Levy's eyebrows.
