View Full Version : STORM WEEK: Where my girls at?

Over the years, Storm has interacted with many of Marvel's non-X-Men divas, and she even became a close friend to a few of them at various points. I've always liked the idea of Storm having superhero friends who aren't mutants. It's cool to see her cameo in non-mutant books and deal with issues that aren't mutant-related.
Should she dip back into that well and renew her friendships with Spider-Woman and Ms. Marvel? Should she continue to pal around with the mostly dull Sue Storm? Or should she establish new bonds with some of Marvel's other divas? Tell me what you think!

i always wanted she-hulk and storm to be really great friends.
they are both strong, beautiful alpha ladies, and now they are both ff alum.

I second that. I loved their interaction in the old X-Men vs. FF mini. "Its too bad you lost your powers Storm, I'd love to go a round or two." BOOM (strange coincidental-subconscious lightning strike).
If Scarlet Witch wasn't so crazy I think she and Ororo would be great friends. Uber-powerful women with exotic fashion sense and interest in magic.
Carol is too straight-laced for Ororo, but they did have nice interactions back in the day.
Sue is pretty boring too, and I can't imagine why Ororo would hang out with her for her 'bachcalorette party'. Please, you know Rogue and Psylocke(was she dead at the time?) would have thrown a RAGER.
I'd like Storm to develop stronger, amicable bonds with the Inhuman leading ladies Medusa and Crystal. I think they could relate to each other very deeply, without any unnecessary battles, thank you.
Bingo!

I'm surprised Storm hasn't had tea time or shopping sprees with the other Marvel ladies. Some potentials..
She-Hulk is a brilliant lawyer and selective lover. They'd have some racy chats.
Monica Rambeau found Storm's oldest friend at the bottom of Jamaica Bay. Did she ever thank her for that?
Sue Richards needs a friend outside the Baxter Building. Storm needs one outside Wakanda and the X-Men. Perfect solution?
Medusa and Ororo, queens of large hair.
Nico Minoru needs a strong female role model. Storm is the best supportive female figure in the mutant world.
I'd also love if Storm became actively involved in promoting the advancement of woman. An annual women's conference for the leading females of the 616. Wouldn't that be amazing to see in print?

This poll made me realize just how few interesting female characters exist in the Marvel Universe, outside of the X-Men.
Keep Storm in-house, please.
Except, well...maybe Loki. I could see her and Storm being borderline-lesbo for each other.

There are loads of potential non mutant ladies for Storm to relate to. There's... well, those ladies listed above, and... Wasp... Clea! Crystal, Sersi, Moondragon... Limited options, but there's still potential.

Well that's nothing like the time when we were riding in a '67 Maserati around Downtown Chicago and got into a bar fight with 4 trannies with razer blades and their tea-cup poodle.

With Jean too. Storm cannot drop her homegurl like a used condom.

I think Black Widow would be like Gambit was to Storm pre-Xtinction Agenda. They could bring out the sneakier side of each other.
As for Spider-Woman:

Another X-Woman has already been there done that, lol.

UGH, to whoever said "keep she-hulk away from t'challa:"
1. storm is her own woman, she is not attached to that man's hip.
2. is there bad blood between them? if so, good. maybe jen can talk some sense into storm since no one else seems to be able to.
and let's not forget that she-hulk went out of her way to represent the x-men (storm included!!) pro bono in genosha.
did storm ever thank her for that?

Ms. Marvel - I think Carol would be cool but storms status as the queen of a national power might cause conflict
Spider-Woman - I think they were supposed to be pretty good friends in the early xdays but i dont see much of a connection now...
Invisible Woman - I like the dynamic these two had in Civil War and then in FF so i think it would be cool if they hung out more.
Medusa - I think these two would make great friends the both share so many character attributes. Both are fiercely loyal to their families and are members of out outast societies so they can relate on that level. The only problem might be that they both can a bit cold to outsiders so they may not take to each other at first but i think if they met on the right terms they could be good friends.
Misty Knight - As mentioned Misty and Coleen know how to have fun so i think they could really get storm to lighten up.

Storm - Heauxs before Breauxs
Storm
Man Killer
Skien
Songbird
Callisto
Crystal
Phantasia
Siena Blaze
Storm and these other women get caught by Claremont-esque slavers and sold to aliens and have to fight for their womenhood!

Storm should just dump the X-Men entirely and take Logan's Avenger slot. Hell, she should be leading the Avengers.

Yeah, if any mutant deserves to have graduated to Avengers status by now, it's Storm. She could totally fill the Thor spot, plus she's a strong, independent woman. She'd be leading by the end of the second story-arc.

storm would be great for the avengers' image. i would read avengers with storm as the leader.
it would also give her time to bond with she-hulk. scarlet witch is not invited.

Oh boy, I'm torn between The Invisible Woman and Pulsar. I can see Ro and Sue having a friendship after Ro took over for her in the FF4. While Monica and Ro teamed up during the Secret Wars. Plus she helped her husband on many occassions. So I could see either one of them being in her inner circle.

I can't believe you forgot to include Sersi!
I didn't forget anybody, but there are only so many spots! Plus, I went with Thena because she's more important than Sersi. She's the closest thing to a queen the Eternals have.
It wasn't all about the fabulous because Sersi would have been all over this list--Elsa Bloodstone too.
And probably Spitfire as well.
And Misty Knight is only on it as a shout out to Joe Joe who hasn't even bothered commenting in the thread yet.
