I was reading the Captain Britain thread and I saw that someone stated that Xmen First Class is being canceled.

Please tell me this isn't true. And if it's true, please provide a link to confirm whether it's accurate or not.

The ongoing is cancelled, but there will be a special in the near future followed by another miniseries.

Near as I can tell, First Class is one of those books that will get cancelled but not really be cancelled. It sells well in those little digests they have at the bookstore, so Marvel will get as much material out of it as they can even if it's not going on continuously.

I thought the book was safe? Considering they were constantly saying that the digests were good and they even had a spinoff Wolverine First Class.

Yeah, I thought this book was safe as well. I mean they're coming out with Weapon X First Class in addition to Wolverine First Class.

It just doesn't make any sense why they would cancel Xmen First class.

Yeah, it will be back in (I think Feb) as a mini series, and there is a special this month.

Wolverine First Class sells better than X-Men First Class, so I imagine it will continue for a good while. Weapon X First Class is a mini. I am sure X-Men First Class will continue as occasional minis.

I think we are going to see more 4-5 issue mini First Class type stories dealing with different times in X-Men history from here on out.

Aww I was actually enjoying this title even with no Polaris/Jean friendship. :frown:

In an interview (sorry I can't remember where) I thought I saw an X-Men First class Pencils Cover which had yet to be Solicited. I thought the number was #17. And I'm sure who ever was being interviewed said it would be back soon. I don't read the series so correct me if I am wrong.

The ongoing is cancelled. But it's not the last we'll see of X-Men: First Class.

As was noted in the last issue of X-Men: First Class, there's more to come. The Special is out Wednesday and then a 4-Issue Mini-Series picks up in Febuary. And there have been various statements made that this isn't the end of the 05 version of X-Men: First Class. Jeff Parker even dropped some teases about playing with Ape Beast and Archangel in a recent interview. Which could mean a X-Factor: First Class book.

Apperantly, Marvel only wants 2 First Class books out there every month. So we've got Wolverine and the Weapon X: First Class running from November - January, the 05 version was cancelled. Then we'll get the 05 version back from Febuary - May. And then something else will come out. And then we'll see.

I agree it was a good title and would have liked it to stay an ongoing, even if it did annoy me a bit that Wanda replaced Lorna and Jean's friendship.

That said we will see more FC stories in the future.

Honestly, it was one of my favorite books, but I'm not very disappointed. I think it was meant to come out in small doses.

The Weapon X First Class mini will actually be taking over from X-men First Class.I think Marvel have decided the sales work better when First Class is published as a mini.As far as I know there is another Giant -sized special planned as well.So X-men First Class will be returning intermittently

Kind of sucks that Marvel is pulling all of my Iceman books. Now all I have is Manifest Destiny until that runs out. Even if he's in Secret Invasion for a cameo or two, it isn't even worth my time or money either. I just hope he gets picked up for a permanent place in Legacy next year.

This really sucks! I thought it was one of the best books out there period!

This is a great shame. I was trade waiting on this one, and actually quite enjoying it. I don't know whether it's directly as a result of sales, or what, but I suppose we shouldn't be too surprised.

I just wish they wouldn't pump out filler material like Wolverine or Weapon X: First Class instead. We have 2 ongoing Wolverine books - we don't need 2 more.

I guess that maybe X-Fans just won't buy into a book, en mass, if it's not directly involved with present continuity.

I'm a big fan of X-Men: First Class.

Of course it's canceled.

Wolverine FC is AWESOME. Seriously, as a Kitty fan you should be reading it...

I want those two -- they're the only Wolvie ongoing books I'm buying at all.

But it's coming back. I'm OK with that. Though of course I'd like as much First Class stuff as possible!

This sums up why I don't read any Marvel books now.
