View Full Version : But What About The Candy You Don't Like?

Recently bought a bag of Dum Dum Suckers (Lollipops, you pervs) at a dollar store. Eighty suckers for two bucks, it's quite a bargain. And most of them are delicious flavors like Cherry Cola and Raspberry. Unfortunately, there are some duds. I can't stand Coconut, or Green Apple, or Watermelon. There weren't a lot of them in the bag, but there were a few and I seperated them out while arranging the suckers in my candy jar.
So, what can one do with them? Throwing them out seems wasteful, but eating candy that tastes bad is utterly pointless. It isn't even good for you. Yes, trick or treat's coming up but that seems exceedingly cheap. So, advice?
It's freakin' candy, it can last years and not go bad. So either donate it, throw it away or give it away at Halloween! ;)

For Halloween usually I have a big bowl of candy and when the youngsters come knocking I give them a handful out of the bowl. You could do that and chuck the ones you don't like in there so you don't look cheap. Also, just because you don't like them doesn't mean that someone else will. I love sharing candy with people that hate the flavours I love. *more for me yay*

Wow -- coconut, watermelon, and especially green apple are three of my favorite flavors. I love that artificial candy "green apple" chemical flavor. (I put it in quotes because I don't think it really tastes like actual green apples, the same way candy/Kool-Aid "grape" doesn't taste like actual grapes.) But I know what you mean ... I never know what to do with the flavors I hate, like root beer Dum Dums, black licorice anything, etc. I usually throw them out, although if there's a lot I will sometimes take a candy bowl to the office filled w/ flavors I hate (and a few that are OK, just so it doesn't look completely obvious what I am doing).

This year I have it easy, I'm going to be Interstate for Halloween so I won't be home to answer the door.

WhiteRose and Cam organizes those! Sometimes they bring dangerous animals from Australia though, so most of us hide when they come over!
