Don't worry, it's fine. I created the other account awhile back when the site wasn't letting me sign on using my main account. Since the name was essentially the same, I figured I wasn't fooling anyone, and since I'm now able to get on with my main account, I don't need the secondary one. Didn't mean to upset the mods, but I did want to let them know about it, hence the thread.

My guess is they let him get away with it when he was unable to log in his first account, but after that was cleared up, when he STILL used the old one, even in jest, they temp-banned the first one, and permabanned the second.

Since some posters -- who shall remain nameless -- have accused the Mods of playing favorites and selectively enforcing the rules, I don't see where SK had any option, however harmless FS's intentions, or whatever the Mods felt about this particular case.

We'll know how FS feels about it when he gets back, but I'm guessing that he understands the situation (and maybe wishes that he had PMed a Mod asking that the second account be deep-sixed, rather than drawing QUITE so much attention to its existence).

Correct, I quoted the YABS policy in the thread. We've had this issue before. While FS was very obvious in naming his second account. There are others who have created sock-puppets thinking it would be fun to pretend to be someone else. And there are others who would create sock-puppets because someone else was allowed to get away with doing so. It's a No Tolerance policy

And it never fails, someone always pulls out a sock-puppet when SkrullEmperorJason makes a return.

I have been criticized for being too easy on some people and too hard on others. Since a few whiners can't make up their minds, I'm going to treat everyone equally under the rules. You break one and you will be held accountable, whether I like you or not and regardless of how popular you may be.

Not specifically aimed at Hy, but if you don't like it, I suggest you visit any of the other CBR forums and see how well they get away with breaking the rules.
