Or better yet what is worth reading? I just read sinestro corps war in trades so I am going to start getting Green Lantern and Green Lantern Corps. I also get legion. I get no Marvel books now and would rather mostly follow one company than the other. I get quite a few indies and classic trades so I am not looking for a ton of monthlies, but does anyone else get anything else worth reading?

Thanks

While I can't vouch for Blue Beetle or Booster Gold, I would like to second the "pimping" of Jonah Hex.

Jonah Hex is a fantastic and completely underrated series. It deserves much more attention than it gets. The writing team is fantastic, the stories are frequently done in one issue and the art is always changing and always fantastic. Even if you're not into westerns (I wasn't), I'd definitely recommend picking up Jonah Hex. The beauty of the series is that you can pick up the issues that interest you and leave the other ones behind, because, like I said, the majority of the stories are done in one issue.

If you're looking for more standard, superhero fare, I'd say Action Comics is the way to go. Allow me to fill you in on the status quo in one paragraph:

Superman just fought and beat Brainiac, a sentient computer-based organism that destroys civilizations after collecting their most prominent cities in bottles to save the knowledge they posses. As it turns out, one of these civilizations is Kandor, from Krypton. So, after beating Brainiac down, Superman takes the Bottle City of Kandor and shatters the bottle at the North Pole. Now, a city of 100,000 Kryptonians exists on Earth, and they are all rapidly attaining Superman's powers. Meanwhile, Brainiac, in a last, bitter move, sends an attack drone to Clark Kent's parents' farm, and nearly kills Clark's mother; however, Clark's mother is saved by Clark's father, who then dies of a heart attack. Brainiac is now inert and in the U.S. Government's custody, and Lex Luthor is now in the employ of the xenophobic, supposedly dead U.S. Army General Sam Lane, who is none other than Lois Lane's father. DUN-DUN-DUN!

Hey, presto... You're caught up.

yeah, heard good things about Blue Beetle and Jonah Hex. I don't think Hex is really my thing but I am definetely looking at Blue Beetle. I read booster gold but left about the same time Johns did.

I'm reading Manhunter. Boo! Cancelled!

I'm also reading the main Batman title. The G-Mo run isn't turning my crank but I'm very excited about O'neil writing a few issues soon! He's one of my favorite writers.

JSA, Action Comics, and Detective Comics are all great. Batman is good but you have to read evey issue written by Morrision (the current writer) to understand it.

I have subscribed Batman and the Outsiders, but that series didn't turn out to be as good as I hoped.

I was about to subscribe Catwoman, but too late.
I used to have subscriptions to Batgirl, Young Justice and PAD's Supergirl. All now gone, forgotten or deliberately destroyed. I know, I have a bad track record.

I was (and in some cases still am) an infrequent reader of Birds of Prey (after a low getting better again), Outsiders (the only good Winnick series I know of), Teen Titans (especially after OYL, but not anymore) and Robin (before War Games, not anymore)

Not too much, I'm afraid. Almost all I read right now is non-DC, non-Marvel stuff.

Two of the best books on the superhero market right now for me are Batman and Green Lantern.

Geoff Johns has created a very well thought out and well planned story for Green Lantern that began with a very good story in Green Lantern: Rebirth.

Grant Morrison's Batman has been a trip through the mind of Batman and a deconstruction of the character. RIP has been one of the most imaginative superhero comics I've read in awhile.

Well, you've already decided on GL and GLC, which are both excellent choices. I'd highly recommend:

Blue Beetle
JSA
Action Comics
Detective Comics

I'd have recommended Manhunter, but unfortunately it's just been cancelled.

Yeah, Manhunter's usually one of the first things I recommend. Now, not so much. :frown:

I'm currently reading no DC comics, except the Legion and Final Crisis: Legion of 3 Worlds. After those series are cancelled, I won't be reading any other DC comics until there's a regular Legion series again.

Lots of good books already mentioned...I would add:
Nightwing
Robin

And if you are looking for Vertigo books:
Northlanders (Get the new trade, collects the first 8 issues!)
Scalped
Unknown Soldier
