Max Payne is out and i can't wait to go and see it. Have tried the game and i must say i was slightly disappointed to see who will play the main character.
Long story short:
"Coming together to solve a series of murders in New York City are a DEA agent (Wahlberg) whose family was slain as part of a conspiracy and an assassin (Kunis) out to avenge her sister's death. The duo will be hunted by the police, the mob, and a ruthless corporation... "
And all the killing has to be done by Mark Wahlberg (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000242/) .. he just doesn't fit that role but that's my opinion i will just go see the movie and see if he can surprise me. Share your thoughts about that movie i've heard that there will be plenty of amazing effects so we will have something to talk about.

I have yet to see this film and all the negative reviews aren't giving me much incetivetoo either. The last time I checked it had a 24% fresh rating on RT.com. While pundits almost always priase the visuals they all remain that the story is complete crap abound with miscasts and a bad scritp.

I've heard there are some nice elements in the story with some Wyverns or something like that picking up the weak ones.. some mythology interpreted in a modern way but i guess it won't be able to compensate for the rest.. i guess we will have to see ...

It was... Boring...
Far too much padding and such, with the good moments being far too in-between until the end. The visuals were great, except the slo-mos. The spotlight moments for me were the part where Max remembers the day he lost his family (I think this moment might have been done better than the game's version of it), and the last fights.
Notables:
My current favorite Heroes actress showed up, as a drug addict... She looked great.
This movie did Mona no justice. Mila Kunis did pretty much nothing until the end.
The story sucked. This isn't to say that either games' storylines are masterpieces (far from it), but this was worse.
However, the movie's use of Valkyr was much better than in Max Payne 1.
The ending battle wasn't that great, but it had some nice visuals.
So in the end... It was some flash, little substance. Oh, and why the heck do Max and Mona have such a high damage soak?

Nothing special ... If you enjoy effects ,, then see it, and enjoy them well.. as they are pretty much the only thing in this movie.. a lot of bullets a dead people and that's it ;) If you are a looking for something more deep you will be disappointed.

The group that went with me loved it. I felt it could had been done better. The plot was simple, but the FX was done well. I would wait till it comes to the second run theater.
Connecting the game to the movie is most likely the reason it wasn't done as well as it could had.

I didn't see the movie, though I've been wanting to see it. It looked like a poor man's Sin City. I am surprised that this movie was number one at the box office, considering all the negative reviews. Thus, I think the SNL skit must have had a big influence on the movie's popularity. Indeed, I think Walhberg was pretty smart in discussing how he would beat up Samberg during the interviews he had for Max Payne. Everyone was probably hoping Walhberg would talk to some goats and tell them to say hi their mothers. By the way, in Max Payne does he ask any goats how their mothers are doing? Or at the very least, if they watched the Perfect Storm?
