I'm sure it's probably just a coincidence but it's what I thought when I first heard Eminem's new song.
The lyrics read: "Kick Ass, the first thing I put on is the mask"

It probably will be a coincidence, but who knows? I'm sure I remember seeing an interview with Eminem on British tv where he said he reads comic books and in his "Without Me" video he does dress up as a costumed hero.

After the Wanted debacle, it seems likely he knows who Millar is.

Just curious why you refer to it as a "debacle".
Also curious, how many people you think went to see the movie and now know who Mark Millar is? I know I want to see it with a good friend of mine and his wife, and they had no idea it was based off of a comic book, let alone who wrote it . . .

. Damn. Eminem's....................not the same. Since "Encore" his lyrical skills have gone down the toilet.

He wasn't referring to the movie as a debacle. Millar fabricated a rumor that Eminem begged them for the lead role in Wanted, and Eminem denied this.

Millar started a leak campaign in the early days of the movie's development to drum up interest saying Eminem was interested in the part, given that the visual was based on him. Eminem then came out and said he had no idea what Wanted was and that he wasn't doing it.

wow, that seems like such an odd thing for Millar to do, he is a big fan of alternative marketing strategies.

I'd personally consider the movie a debacle. :frown:

alternative marketing strategies.
A nice way of saying strategic whoredom. Lets not make things overcomplicated.

His lyrical skills are as good as ever, he just has an annoying tendancy to rap about crap subjects these days. Hopefully his forthcoing album will sort that out!
Also I think in the lyrics, especially if you listen to the whole song, he is talking about being like various slashers from horror movies and how he kills people and stuff (...as I said, crap subjects), not "Kick Ass" specifically.

Meh. The quality of that song is not the best sign for THE RELAPSE. But that's ok, the real test will be the Eminem & Slim Shady VS TI & TIP song.
Eminem has mentioned reading comics before in "Say Goodbye to Hollywood" and I think "Brain Damage" as well so maybe, but how likely is it that he would be giving a shout out to Millar after the WANTED thing?
