I think I saw a thread like this a few weeks back, like on page 12 or something... I think this idea's been done, but oh well, not the first time that's happened :redface:

I say Longshot is the worst.
He may have the luck powers, but his wardrobe only consists of black leather pants, jackets, and vests, and he's had the same haircut since the 80s, retro is cool and all, but he gives retro a bad name. Mullets belong on rednecks and someone who can't afford to get a haircut, or lazy slackers. I like Longshot's happy attitude, but how in the world did someone so lame get Dazzler and Rogue's attention? Longshot sucks!!!

Second would be Maggot, he was pointless and his powers were two leech thingies on his wrists. LAME! It may sound creative at first, but I mean, why not have the maggots shoot laser beams or something, or have maggot have a cool appearance, I mean, I'm sure he and Guido go to the same hairdresser.

3rd: Shatterstar- Like father, like son, LAME! A swashbuckling dude with braids and pirate shirts isn't that cool, swords don't make him any better too.
4th: Guido- What we need is another strong guy, only this time he's a bodyguard! Even being on New X-factor with other cool characters, his lameness still stands out.
5th: Thunderbird III- What does having radioactive flames and being radioactive immune have to do with being a thunderbird? James and John Proudstar coined it, but Neal wore it out... and he wore it out fast!

Worst X-Man Ever: Joseph, that Magneto clone thing. What was the point of that?

2. Lifeguard, she ended up looking like big bird!
3. Slipstream, Big bird's brother
4. Shadowcat: Look, she's cute, she's a genius, she's a computer whiz, she's a ninja, she's a mutant, she's making me sick
5. Longshot

10. Slipstream & Lifeguard - hardly worth a mention, but still X-Tremely terrible characters

9. Husk - her tenure as a member of Generation X was fine, but as an X-Man she was a waste of space and an increasingly odd and uninteresting character

8. Polaris - Consistently mediocre until Chuck Austen of all people took a chance on her. I also forgot to insert Forge, so he can go here as well.

7. Xorn - needlessly convoluted and brought nothing to the table.

6. Psylocke - see above, but also made fanboys look bad with her skimpy outfits and her (numerous) ridiculous storylines.

5. Marvel Girl - at least she had a good introduction to the mythos.

4. Warpath & Caliban - brought absolutely nothing to the table. Even in a superior run to Brubaker's Shi'ar story by moving to X-Force, Warpath still does absolutely nothing for me.

3. Longshot & Gambit - 90's terrible, cheesy, and obnoxious.

2. Joseph - mildly entertaining for approximately four panels

Mimic being one of the worst is mostly due to writing, just see Exiles to see how awesome the character could be.

Joe Kelly made him AWESOME. Not giving a shit, hitting on any X-gal who crossed his path... I wish we'd gotten more Maggott (and Marrow, and Cece.... and Joe Kelly).

I think The Dazzler might actually be the worst "major" X-Man, if it even qualifies for that. Even Al's diehards hated her tenure, it was pretty much pure failure. At least Jubilee was actually effective once or twice, the only time Al ever managed to do something right was when led by the nose by Betsy or coaxed by Rogue. She always needed the superior X-women to show the way.

i think i hate all of the x-men to be honest. i like all the obscure minor characters and villains, but i didn't realize this until lately. i don't like cyclops, storm, wolverine, jean grey, beast, emma frost, or any of them. i like madrox the multple man, wolfsbane, sunspot, polaris, siryn, magik, gentle, dust, etc.

but the worst x-men of all time are definitely:

I don't know what the rest of you are talking about... Maggot, Mimic, Changeling, Cecelia Reyes, Marvel Girl... they're all good characters! Maybe some were written poorly or need some tweaking, but they're definitely not the worst.

5. Beast/Hepzibah. God, as an x-man he's always sooo boring. I haven't liked him since he was in X-Factor, that's how boring they've written him! and I really don't care for how they portray Hep. She was much better when I only had to read about her in a space story every now and then. Since joining the X-men the most interesting thing she's done is flirt with storm in the sewers.

4. Longshot-Seriously, what was the point of adding him to this title? He honestly didn't add much to the mix when he was here and was phased out in the matter of 1 page.

3. Slipstream-he was interesting for the matter of exactly 3 pages. Then his character became a shitbox....

2. Lifeguard-this character was cool when she was a golden girl colossus, but then CC had to add the whole shi'ar shit into the mix and now...blech.

1. TBIII-I hate this character so much I hope he gets tb and dies a horrible, horrible death. He was the 2nd worst thing about revolution(the 1st being CC's handling of Cece.) and he was the worst thing about X-treme. Truly horrible character you got on your hands, CC.

I don't think anyone considered Korvus a X-Man, and im not sure the guy Mystique tried to pawn off on Rogue counts either. (Was he ever officially on a team?)

I don't claim any love for Emma, but how can she be the worst when she actually has contributed to the main plot of the series for nearly the last decade. I feel your pain, as one of my favorites has been listed here a few times..but seriously this thread hardly constitutes the actually worst X-Men. We all know the original 4 are the worst, thank god for Jean Grey. :tongue:
