I read on the description for Wild Hunt #2 that Guy Davis would be drawing a back up feature. Does anyone know anything about this? Is it a Hellboy or BPRD story?

Yeah i think i read somewhere that it is a portmanteau thing called the Silver Lantern? Not sure if it has anything to do with Hellboy or BPRD directly.

Cool, I joined in after the first Hellboy movie so I never got to know the back up feature aspect so prevelent in the '90s comics.

A back-up story? Haven't seen them since the 90's.

Although I did go to both the great Mike Mignola talks at the Birmingham International Comic Show last year, I can't remember this exact detail, though MM did say there would be a Sir Edward Grey series - I believe a series on it's own like Abe and Lobster have had.

"The next Hellboy arc/TPB will be called The Wild Hunt and is include a backup story called Tales from the Silver Lantern Club, featuring Victorian occult investigator Edward Grey."

Isn't the Silver Lantern a nod to the DC Silver Age, something I am not well informed about.

This is great news! That would be very neat if these stories continued throughout the entire plot of Wild Hunt. Since I'm not familiar with backup stories, do they subtract pages from the main story, or will these books have the extra pages for the backup?

Either way, I'm excited. Wild Hunt will be long enough as it is with 8 issues.

Guy can do no wrong on anything they put him on :)
Looking forward to it!

Will it be collected in the trade, like the Lobster Johnson essays?
