Two weeks have passed by since Moon Knight evaded the Thunderbolts attack. Norman Osborn sure isn't happy about the team's incompetence to bring in such a d-list of a punch line, and the fact that he's making a mockery of them. All Moonstone can say is that they're doing everything in their power, yet Norman doesn't give a crap about effort. If they want some words of inspiration, they can go dig up Steve Rogers and see what he says. So he's forced to take matters into his own hands. The Profile has presented him with the leader of the Whyos, who has a crescent moon carved on his forehead after experiencing an encounter with Moon Knight and has copped a deal with Norman to avoid prison.

Meanwhile, Marc Spector is begging for Khonshu's mercy. He's found himself lost, alone and scared... willing to maim and kill for him, to become his true avenging spirit. However, Khonshu has been disheartened by his wasted talent and the fact that he gave Marc everything, yet received only blaspehmy and whimpering cries from him. Marc screams at him that a god only exists if someone believes in them, so he's Khonshu's entire congregation. Khonshu assures him he's not his only working client. There are others.

The Whyos then make a move on Frenchie's café, severly injuring Rob. This leads Jean-Paul into a berzerker rage that has him brutally attacking the Whyos, stabbing one and even biting another, while Rob stares in awe. As Rob goes through intense medical treatment, Frenchie is interrogated at the hospital by a cop, but he tells him it was a hate crime and not a statement form the group in order to retaliate a beef with anyone close to him, and that they don't have to worry about him taking matters into his own hands. Marlene pays him a visit before Frenchie goes home and attempts to kill himself with an empty gun. He then seeks Crawley's help to get at the Whyos, and attacks them at their quarters with Moon Knight showing up to help. Both of them unaware that it was all a setup, so as Moon Knight chases after an escaping Whyo, he's confronted by the vicious Venom!

This arc is finally looking up for me. I'm sure glad the classic Moon Knight costume is back and the lame Wolverine/Black Panther hybrid costume or whatever it was has been finally dropped.

The initial scene with Norman Osborn was hilarious, I hope we get to see more of him along the line. The alliance with the Whyos to get Moon Knight out of hiding was a great plan, and I quite like the group itself. They're so wicked and their look is so odd, a good addition to Moon Knight's rogues gallery.

I dig the fact that Marc is aware that Khonshu exists because he believes so, but I'm not sure how I feel about Khonshu turning his back on him and looking for other avatars. It's leaning towards him appearing as a real diety (as it was used it West Coast Avengers) rather than a creation of Marc's psyche as it has hinted lately, and which I thought is a much more interesting approach. We'll see.

Frenchie getting hardcore was something I enjoyed as well. I was getting really sick of his attitude lately, but he really got to shine in this issue. But why is always the gays the ones to get brutally beaten by the enemies in order to get to Moon Knight? First Jean-Paul, now Rob... you'd think they would go after Marlene instead, Marc's obsessive devotion to her would have affected him more.

I was dissapointed by Bullseye not appearing in the actual issue, though. Being on the cover and all. And I still kinda hate the art...

Only glance through this issue. It was ok, but not one of my favorites. Was it just me, or did the Whyos seem to be a gang straight out of "The Warriors?" Indeed, I thought one of them playing a Warriors' pinball machine was a very big hint. Still, felt that it needed some more Moon Knight action, though his taking down of the Whyos gang members was pretty cool.

Yeah I noticed that too and completely geeked out at the pinball machine, being a MASSIVE Warriors fan.

I'm liking where this is going, Moon Knight vs Venom should be good and the eventual showdown with Bullseye should be awesome too. I even like the bits with Konshu. That seems intriguing to me, does he really have more avatars? Is he just bluffing? Is he actually real? The "You really are crazy." line was gold. Marc's getting even more messed up.

Which leads to even more questions, are Konshu's other (possible) avatars as crazy as Marc? Cannot wait to see more of this in the coming arcs.

Funky cover.

Osborne's unhappy at his Thunderbolts' incompetence and recruits a former Whyo to help. Marc attempts to negotiate with Khonshu. "I'm your $%&@!~#* congregation!" but K-man wants nothing of it and rejects Marc. "[I have] other working clients". Good riddance, the god/hallucination's been nothing but trouble anyway. The Whyos trash Frenchie's bistro and beat the snot out of Rob. Frenchie beats a few Whyos and the rest run like chickens when they hear the cops. Once at the hospital, Rob is declared to be in grave condition. Frenchie's an emotional wreck. He goes home and survives a round of Russian roulette. Very intense scene! He then tracks down Crawley who directs him to a Whyo hangout. He tunes two gansters but the third shoots him in the shoulder. Surpise! Moon Knight crashes in and disarms the remaining thug who flees the scene. Moon Knight goes after him and tells Frenchie to meet at the 'copter on the roof. Frenchie ain't happy for the help. Moon Knight catches up with the hooligan in an alley but, oops, it's a trap! Guess who's waiting there for him... Boo!

Don't be a pansy a$$, drink a beer or four and read this comic!
