I'm not that young. If you count age exponentially, this is only my 5th birthday, and I won't be having my 6th one until 2040.

It was a good birthday weekend. Em and I went to a couple of shows, one Friday evening and one Saturday afternoon. Today we did family stuff, played some games, had a Filipino feast cooked by my mom with enough food to feed a dozen people, and watched the newly restored Sleeping Beauty.

I got the aforementioned Sleeping Beauty BD, most of my James Bond books hardbound, and a turntable to hook into the computer.

And I have tomorrow off, which just makes things better because I've had way too much caffeine today.

Lumpia, yes we had some. Regardless of what else is in the meal, you can assume that it includes brown rice and lumpia. Mom and I make a couple dozen every sunday for the upcoming week. I personally prefer crushed peanuts to turnip for the filler, but they're good either way.

Stupid invisible posts.

Instead of repeating my previous message, I'll add something new.

I don't get white rice. White rice is rice that has been processed such that everything but the core of the grain has been removed, which results in most of the nutritional value going bye-bye, enough so that polished white rice has to be enriched to put back some of the nutrients removed in the processing.

This would make sense if something were gained, but nothing is. White rice doesn't taste any different. It's just a different color and less nutritious and costs more to produce.
