Cool stuff currently going on? Good Jumping on Points?

Hey all.

I posted about GL a week or so ago and got the great recommendation to go back and catch up on Secret Origin. Well, i am currently looking for more "jumping on points" to some of the better stories and heroes out there. I primarily read the Batman books, and am starting to get into GL... is there anything going on, or a specific character that others recommend? I am open to all suggestions (and i don't mind getting back issues if something started a few months ago).

I would say that if you have ever been interested in trying a Superman book, now is the time to go pick up the Brainiac arc in Action Comics. It shouldn't be too hard to find the previous issues. To me it's a perfect blend of sci fi and personal drama. Gary Franks artwork is outstanding. I wasn't a Superman fan before 3 years ago but I have been reading lots of back issues and trades and in my humble opinion this current Brainiac arc is everything a modern Superman book should be.

Also, Jonah Hex isn't just DC's best book, it's the best book period! It's a western that I would recommend to people who don't like westerns. It is dark and drenched in blood and Hex is no hero. All of the stories have been contained (or done in one) in each issue, so you'd only need to purchase one to see if you like it.

Joe Kuberts Tor was excellent as well.

If you want good crazy fun, with awesome story telling and characters, mixed together with GORGEOUS art I'd say jump on SECRET SIX right away. Second issue just came out and it's so damn good.

If you like Green Lantern, you can't go wrong with Green Lantern Corps: Recharge, which re-establishes the modern GLCorps. Great story, great art. Awesome characters. Good fun.
