Bane is confusing though likeable. Not sure why he seems to think Scandal needs a father figure, but whatever, he's a noble little muscleman and we luvs him for it. And glad to see the costumes coming on - there's just something wooby about those outfits that makes my heart all a flutter.
Also: Batman vs. Catman rocks.

the book will get credited with aesthetics. Perhaps a nice floral pattern like this:

Tarantula isn't on the team; she's just their cargo. Although that could change by the end of issue 6.
Ragdoll continues to be hilariously depraved.
Also, I kinda want Gail to write Batman now.

And then Gail starts the thread with "CUMIN!" and I nearly spit up soda I drank 5 minutes ago.

Oh, dear. As regards his feelings toward Scandal, I have a horrible feeling Bane's eventually going to get really, really hurt. (Possibly literally.) And I am surprised to find that I actually don't want that to happen.
Also, hey, did we just learn Ragdoll's first name? We did! And it's...the same as his dad's. Oh, well, still nice to know. (And, damn, he only weighs 73 pounds? Gail, please, let the boy have a cheeseburger.)

I thought it was a major step-up from the first issue, including everything from diction to fleshing out the main villain(who I can take a little bit more seriously now). I'll DEFINITELY be sticking around now.

Ragdoll had a lot of good moments, as usual. Especially when he got bitchy about who the lightest on the team is.
I like that Bane seems intent on becoming Scandal's father figure or something. When one of the previews mentioned him developing unusual feelings for one of the other six, I was slightly worried it'd go down the more typical lines of the romantic, but this seems a lot less predictable.
I wonder if Batman's worried about Blake because he sort of inadvertently inspired him to become Catman? I know that preserving life is part of what Batman does, but that slight connection might make Batman feel particularly responsible.

I don't think Batman really gives a shit about Catman. Batman's always interested in the greater picture. I think he says what he means and means what he says. He knows the consquences once the Secret Six make their way to Gotham and above all else Batman cares about HIS city and doesn't want another blood bath which will be inevitable. I do believe he thought he could play the Huntress card on Catman to some degree but I noticed Catman didn't bite on that one. Whatever is going on between them is between them and I don't think he appreciated her name being brought up.
I'm convinced more than ever Catman and Huntress having been keeping their relationship on the DL for some time and I suspect Batman's somehow become aware of their relationship. How else could have put her in the middle. She sure as hell wouldn't volunteer information to Batman or anyone with regards to Blake. If/When he became aware of them he probably chastised the hell out of her and she came to Blake's defense. When she told Thomas that the "Bat knows", I think she was speaking of the mission and also their involvement with one another. But for Batman to know of Catman's confliction, for him to use the Huntress card he had to have stumbled across these two somehow, somewhere.

doesn't know who Scandal's real father is or he wouldn't be saying such ridiculous things. Speaking of which, Vandal Savage is having all kinds of evil
fun in Final Crisis Revelations. Any of that going to spill over into Secret Six?

Great. Now I have this hideous image of someone leaning out of a car at a speaker box, talking in that ridiculous Christian Bale voice: "I'll have a chulpa, with a side order of rice and a Diet Coke..."
What I'm worried about with Bane is that he'll decide Scandal needs a man who'll smack her around a bit and keep her in line. I mean, God knows where his head will finally land when she punches it off. If it smashes my windshield, I'll expect Gail to reimburse me for it...

Check out the flashback image when Batman's telling Blake he knew he wasn't a joke even back then.
Two questions: If Scandal is Vandal Savage's daughter, does that mean she's older than she looks? And do you realize this is the second Gail-written book in two months where a guy's been nailed in the nuts?

Off topic: It holds well, it's very noir, which I like.
BTW I also have to add I enjoy Captain America, for the record. Brubaker's good stuff there.
I think the Bat/ Cat fight was the highlight of the story.
I'm hoping to take to Bane, but what I'd really like to see is two low level metas join the Six on a permanent basis. Something just more than 'being a good fighter'.

I have to side with Catman. There's something unnerving about knowing Batman had a burrito for dinner. Although it's CUTE that's he's sniffing people's breaths like a housecat will.

Not to bring any negativity to the thread, but can we actually start a process to get that guy fired? He stinks.
Anyways... SECRET SIX! I feel like a bloody fangirl every time I get another issue with these characters with Gail at the helm. It's fucking awesome, like Xmas minus the "getting up at 6 in the morning and sneaking around without your parents catching you and yelling at you to at least eat a goddamn orange before you start devouring all the chocolate in your stocking and don't you dare open the big presents behind the tree yet your father isn't even awake!"
Ragdoll's just tons of fun, Bane's hilarious yet creepy, Deadshot... didn't really do much this issue, and Thomas was awesome.
And that damned Batman burrito line reminded me of Gail's Xmas thing, which had me laughing until the tears started to flow.

I LOVE this book too. BEST DC book i buy every month, hands down.
BUT...i was upset at the Cat/Bat fight. I understood it,but i hated the bones that seemed to have to be tossed to the Bat crew. Sigh. One of the reasons Catman has always been a character of interest is that he actually DID Beat BATMAN,back when that was NO easy feat.
So i will ALWAY Cheer Catman.

Well, let's take a look at it.
During the past few years Catman has become a changed man. Once a butt of jokes he now has evolved, he has changed himself to become an individual who can give even the Batman pause.
Can he take Batman?
Nope, but given the, ahem, unpleasantness Batman is currently experiencing it's not outside the realm of reason to assume that Catman could give a weary, worn out Batman a run for his money.
