At least I get plenty of holiday time this year!
My company enacted a temporary layoff of myself and 10-15 coworkers today. We find out midweek next week if we come back or not based on investors in California. Most likely the company is over.

Sooo... yeah, dream job gone...

Let's all keep our fingers crossed that the Econotastrophe ends soon.

Sorry to hear that Crowley. But we've had one other member here that thought it was going to be a gloomy outlook, and within a few days, was saved.

Perhaps that will happen for you. Perhaps something even better will come along.

In either case, good luck!

Yeah, that's a pretty nasty bit of news.

Hope things resolve themselves quickly.

The World Markets are in freefall . The Dow in 2 days has dropped 900+ points . The rest of the world is falling with us . The FED has cut rates today and the world will likely follow cutting rates to stop the world economy from going into the tank. It sucks ya lost your dream job over this shit. Hope things rebound for ya.

That's pretty shitty news Brian no two ways about it. Hopefully the fact that you have this job on your resume will mean that you can find another one like it in the near future.

this is your opportunity to get out of dodge, take the money you have and invest in gold, or golad backed currency and live like a king on some tropical island.

but I am sorry to hear it, especially since you called it a dream job.
those are pretty hard to come by.

Thanks everybody...

I want to urge everybody... EVERYBODY to start saving now.

I'm lucky because I save like crazy, but many of my coworkers are in the shit because they didn't save. Save up now.

Sorry to hear that. The only time I was ever fired ever, led to me finding the best job I ever had. I'd have NEVER applied there if it hadn't been for that.

What was your job title and what industry, if I may ask?

I am sorry Crowley. Hopefully your VCs tap into a magic reserve chest somewhere. I fear for this country's innovation levels.
