Way to busy, got texts to read and two papers to write. And I gotta go to bed so I can get up early tomorrow, no Wang Chung tonight :frown:
I might have time for a Saftey Dance though, which apparently is not stipulated in your rules.

Yes, and while SOME of us Wang Chunged, others dropped the ball.
It's just plain not cricket to expect others to Wang Chung in your stead, dammit! Everybody Wang Chung. EVERYBODY.

The Safety Dance is clearly non-imperative. As it states in the first line, "You can dance if you want to." That gives you the option to ignore the safety dance. That's almost as ignorable as 'Frankie Say Relax'.
Wang Chunging is not optional. It simply must be done, by everybody.
Make it happen.

I don't know if I can Wang Chung at work. I might get in trouble. I will try and fit it in on my lunch hour.

Boy, I always hated that band, along with almost every other one mentioned--except Devo, who were a product of much earlier. Wang Chung was on the wave of crappy, homogenized ensembles who could get record contracts in the mid-to-late eighties--because they were willing to do anything the record company wanted. No art, no personal vision. The Indy revolution was a direct result of this mediocrity-focused monopolization of the market--the "They'll like what we tell them to like" crowd--you know, like the major comic companies in collusion with Diamond are today!
An aside: Just kidding (wasn't always)--there's been a lot of good stuff from the big two lately, and over the last few years. I remembered recently that when Marvel went bankrupt in late '95, the holding company owed me a few hundred dollars for animation, that I never saw...might've colored my perception of them, besides editors stealing story ideas from my submissions...

Yes which its part of its charm, the right to dance or not dance if you want to, its the American Dream baby! As written by Canadians!

Geez Lauren, where do you work that the forbid the Wang Chung, or for that matter have the authority to forbid the Wang Chung?
By the way how exactly do you Wang Chung? cause I saw the video and apart from a potential seizure, I received no instructions on how to Wang Chung.

While the thought of Wanging Connie Chung isn't that sickening, the thought of her doing it with Maury IS.

Laura. If you are going to call me by my given name, get it right, or at least get it wrong in an interesting way. Like "Bob" or "Lulu" or something.
Also, where I work is very strict. They have forbidden joy and chain my to the desk from 9 to 5. I'm pretty sure you have to stand up to Wang Chung.

Monster Mash is a brilliant restaurant in Edinburgh which specialises in sausage and mashed potato. They do loads of different kinds of each. So I really want to Monster Mash now. Quite badly.

I don't suppose you remember but there used to be a record called The Monster Mash. I remember it from my childhood. I went to visit some friends of my parents and they had two sons. the older one had this record which he played A LOT. I thought it was the best thing since sliced bread.
It had like a spooky theme to it like the Adams family meets the B52's

Hey, Bob, it's all good. You're supposed to Wang Chung tonight. Seeing as you're off work at 5:00, that give you plent of time to Wang Chung within the alotted time frame of 'Tonight'.

If you insist...

Ah yes, 'Monster Mash' by Bobby 'Boris' Pickett. Huge hit at the time, though I think I read somewhere Elvis thought it was the stupidest thing he'd ever heard (This from the guy who went on to sing 'Dominic, The Impotent Bull...')
Pickett went on to do a ton of follow-ups, none of which came close to hitting the charts like 'Mash': 'Monsters' Holiday,' 'It's Alive,' etc.
There've even been a few parodies: 'Monster Trash,' 'Monster Hash,' etc.
In the mid-1950's, the old Universal Studios classic monster movies were released to TV and were usually shown late on Saturday nights with horror movie hosts doing schtick between commercial breaks. The monsters gained a whole new fan base with baby boomer kids and there were lots of tie-ins, including a great many novelty 'monster rock' songs. Look for the compilation THESE GHOULISH THINGS for a sample.
