Anyone catch the premiere of Sanctuary on Sci-Fi? It shows promise, although after having seen the likes of Hellboy and Doctor Who and Torchwood, it is a bit formulaic.

And does it bother anyone else that so many of the backgrounds were inserted in post production? It gave the whole thing a bit of a video game feel for me. But I will give it a few episodes to win me over completely or lose me.

Everything was added in post. The entire series, from what I read, was all green screened. It was ok. Kinda on the formulaic like you said. I will give it at least a few episodes.

Sanctuary was borderline bad/just bland. True, the effects were not tha great, but the acting was worse. I could forgive bad graphics if there's decent to good acting; this one only reaching decent.

I'll probably try another episode or two, but if I forget to set my dv-r to record it, I won't be shattered over it.

I tried watching it...just didn't do anything for me at all. I usually like Amanda Trapping but...just couldn't get into it.

Pretty unimpressive. Not flat out terrible, but not very good. A notch better than a lot of Sci-Fi's recent series attempts but not by much.

Kind of slow moving - monster of the week show with some hidden secrets that must be revealed.

Where have we seen that before. Interesting guns - the daughter babe waves her gun, it doesn't fire but you hear sound effects and see impacts near the target. None of them can shoot worth a damn. Typical monster show gun use.

Teleporting Jack the Ripper - secret to be revealed. Wonder who cleans the Mermaid poop out of the big tank? When we had fish - that was a pain.

If it gets a second season, I hope they work through some of the kinks. Would hate to have to get a life on Friday nights.:biggrin:

Man the video game background is really jarring and annoying. The storylines are not too impressive either. I was hoping this was good after seeing the previews but I couldn't take it anymore so consider it dropped.
