I was thinking about buying the Witchblade. Would anyone recommend this series to my pull list?

Ron Marz has really made the book good again.

The first trade paperback is only $4.99 at comic shops. At that price, its easily worth giving a try. That first storyline isn't the best one out of his run, but it does set the tone for the new direction that Marz takes the character and the Universe in.

Yup, absolutely. Ron's been doing some spiffy work there. Check it out; you'll be glad you did!

Thanks for the recommendation! I was going along the lines of buying the entire series to be honest. Would the Darkness be recommended as well?

Yeah, especially the last five issues.

do not hesitate, go now and grab all the tpbs!

Starting with Marz' run would be fantastic. I think there is a cheap Vol "1" TPB on the market now. Then you could always cough up for the Compendium if you want the full story from the beginning.

The first 24 issues or so are good, then go directly to where Ron Marz begins for the great part. As for the Darkness: Yes, especially volume 1 and the current series are good.

Ahem...but don't skip issues #76 and #77...

If scantily clad women running around killing evil things is your cup of tea, than you should totally pick up Witchblade.

Hmmm, no, I think you're confusing it with American Splendor...

No, no, you're right.

I'm thinking of Maus.

Ron Marz has revitalized WitchBlade in the same fashion that Chris Claremont did for Uncanny Xmen starting with issue 92.

Although the first 24 issues of Witchblade were awesome, the book really lost it's focus from that point on. People didn't know what to expect from Witchblade as it didn't seem to have very much direction whatsoever.

Ron Marz changed that. Witchblade is now one of the best titles out there on the market. And his run started with issue 80. This is a great place to start as the first 6 issues only costs $4.99.

Honestly, the fact that you're now aware of Witchblade and the Darkness, you're in a whole different ballpark from the majority of fans that buy DC and Marvel exclusively.

As far as I'm concerned, Top Cow has been hitting it out of the park on a consistent basis. Comic books don't get better than this.

I'd say that Top Cow makes comics that are comparable in quality to Marvel, only better. The stories get right to the point with no decompression whatsoever. Take for instance the limited series Broken Trinity out right now. It's only a 3 issue mini-series, but it literally has me drooling over the artwork, which happens to be painted. It's also amazing how everything is coming together, I think 6 different characters are going to be present for the battle royale at the end of issue 3.

I bought Witchblade # 116 - 121, and I must I'm really hooked into them. I'll start buying all of the issues backwards if I can, and go for the ones in the dollar bin in New Jersey. And Jay, I wish you the best of luck with Dynamo 5, and don't stop writing Noble Causes.

I'll get everyone I know to buy your current run, and I assure you when I get the series, I'll enjoy it with a passion.

Thanks for the kind words, but we're wrapping up Noble Causes with issue #40. I've been writing this book for around 8 years now, and it's just time to move on. But NC artist Yildiray Cinar and myself are already brainstorming a follow-up project.

In the meantime, buy Witchblade! Ron and the Top Cow guys have some great stuff coming up.

Okay, I'll take your word for it. Besides, I trust your judgement on Marz and the Top Cow guys making great stuff in the nearby future.

Since I know Scrap gets a lot of attention, and looked on Wikipedia seeing that there are hints that Bridget maybe gay (The part where she hopes Gage wouldn't scan her mind, giving mouth to mouth with Jennifer Chang to give her extra air), and wondering that would be addressed in the nearby future.

Jay's mentioned in the forum that she's indeed straight and if I recall correctly she's suppose to be getting a boy friend soon.

Thanks for the info. By the way, collecting the rest of the Witchblade issues. Really awesome so far. Plus I picked up the Darkness. Haven't read it yet, but I will after my school work is done.
