My brother's band Mercury Rev (http://mercuryrev.com/) has released two new albums today! Some of you may know them, many may not, but they've been around for quite awhile now, and have had music featured in films like Laurel Canyon and Panic, as well as on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, not to mention commercials like Pontiac's G6 and for Britain's Channel 4.

The new album is called Strange Attractor, and if you buy the album of songs, you get an album of instrumentals, Snowflake Midnight free. While I'm always proud of my brother and love his music, I'd be a fan of Mercury Rev if he weren't in the band. Their music has a great dreamscape quality, and I never tire of it, even after years of constant listening.

Are any of the new songs available on itunes? If so I'll check some out.

Yep!

In fact their last album, the Secret Migration is the first album to be available for digital purchase before brick 'n mortar!

The easiest/quickest description is Beach Boys a la Pet Sounds meets the Cure?. Not entirely accurate, but a decent shorthand.

You can also see & hear them here! (http://mercuryrev.com/media.html)
