Well, here are the sales figures for the recent Huntress Year One Mini:

#1: 21,273
#2: 19,083
#3: 16,583
#4: 15,810
#5: 14,819
#6: 14,278

Batman pops up on the cover in issue #5 and saw no bump in sales. So much for my theory that he'd give this title a boost. The biggest drop was between issues #2 and #3, while a almost a thousand people didn't think Batman, Batgirl and Catwoman were worth coming back for in #5, though they appeared at the end of #4. And who doesn't pick up #6 when you've obviously made it to #5?

I think it is not so much a matter why people didn't buy the Batman cover as it is why retailers didn't order it.
It was a biweekly book. The huge drops are clearly per month, not per issue. Add to that that by the time #6 had to be ordered, #1 hadn't even come out yet. There'll probably a 1000 or 1500 or so reorders in the coming months.

The time that just putting Batman or Wolverine on a cover can sell a mini is in the past IMO. As it is, these are axcellent numbers for a mini about a character that isn't exactly A-list, with a first time writer, and art that while adequate was not exactly anything to write home about.

What are good websites to get sales figures for comics?

I liked Huntress YO, but I only bought one issue. I'm buying the trade and I hope Madsion gets more Batman gigs in the near future, she knows how to do it.

Her numbers are still a little bit higher than Jonah's Hex's numbers which scares me about the fate of the scared one.

Somehow, I'm not all that surprised...
But, as previously mentioned, it's obviously charting the monthly sales. I suspect the miniseries will do a whole lot better when the trade comes out.

...Well, At least I'll be buying it.
