Here's the concept:
Write a three page script utilizing some character, team, or plot device decided upon by the winner of the previous Sequential Art Challenge. Writers will have approximately two weeks to post their scripts in this thread. At the conclusion of the submission period we will hold a brief vote to decide which script will be used in the Sequential Art Challenge.

The eighty theme, suggested by LewMoxinsghost, winner of Sequential Art Challenge #7, is "Fallout from the Invasion". How this is interpreted is entirely up to you.

Using the winning script, artists will submit their sequentials and, after a couple weeks, they'll be voted on as well.

There are no rules other than following the theme and meeting the deadline. There are no prizes, so those of you just wanting to have fun shouldn't be discouraged from participating, even if you are unsure of your talent.

For this round, scripts will be Due on Monday, October 13 by Midnight EDT.

Have fun!

Here's something I banged out this afternoon. Hope you enjoy.

PAGE 1, PANEL 1
Interior of a residential bathroom, with our focal character, EDDIE WALLACE, staring at himself in the mirror. He is unshaved and looks worn down, not even fully dressed.

PAGE 1, PANEL 2
EDDIE turns to see his WIFE, who is standing in the doorway. There's no dialogue but we should get the sense that she's being harsh on him.

CAP: I lost my job the same day the invasion started.

PAGE 1, PANEL 3
EDDIE at the breakfast table, pouring himself a bowl of cereal.

CAP: There were all sorts of rumours about them. Word was they could change shape. They could be anyone.

PAGE 1, PANEL 4
Close on a MAILMAN.

CAP: Your mailman.

PAGE 1, PANEL 5
Close on a man in a PRIEST's outfit.

CAP: Your priest.

PAGE 1, PANEL 6
Close on Eddie's WIFE.

CAP: Your wife.

PAGE 1, PANEL 7
EDDIE, dressed but unshaven, walking down the street.

CAP: With nothing else to do, I listened a lot. I watched a lot of tv, spent time on the internet.

PAGE 2, PANEL 1
EDDIE enters a hardware store. There aren't too many people in it.

CAP I: I heard how even the heroes didn't know who to trust.

CAP II: How the old ways weren't working.

PAGE 2, PANEL 2
EDDIE peruses an aisle of tools -- hammers, screwdrivers, etc. He has a basket in one hand.

CAP: I daydreamed that maybe one of the aliens had taken my boss's place -- that I'd get my job back when the invasion was over.

PAGE 2, PANEL 3
Close on EDDIE's hand as he selects a hammer from the shelf, placing it in the basket.

CAP: Amanda told me not to be stupid. She does that a lot.

PAGE 2, PANEL 4
EDDIE picks up a box of large garbage bags from the shelf.

CAP: It's not like in the old days. Things have changed.

CAP: She's changed.

PAGE 2, PANEL 5
EDDIE buys his goods from the clerk at the cash.

PAGE 3, PANEL 1
EDDIE walking back down the street from the hardware store to his house.

CAP: They said on the news the other day that the invasion was over. But how can they tell?

PAGE 3, PANEL 2
EDDIE opening door to the house.

CAP: There could be hundreds of them still living among us.

PAGE 3, PANEL 3
EDDIE walking into room where his WIFE is sitting with her back to the door.

CAP: Unnoticed.

PAGE 3, PANEL 4
Close on EDDIE's hand with a hammer in it.

CAP: Untraceable.

PAGE 3, PANEL 5
EDDIE standing behind his WIFE, his hammer raised.

CAP: There's only one way to be sure.

--FIN--

I hope this comes across well. I wrote it in Celtx, but there's no option to export it in any other sort of format so I had to copy-paste and then touch it up.

Working on it. Worried I'm going the wrong direction with my current idea. Might scrap it for something else if I can figure out what the something else could be.

There's nothing wrong with winning by default!

So..... only two writers? Really? Hmf. I like to have choices. Anyone else out there gonna pony up some of their time to write three pages?
