This doesn't look legit to me, either. That said, though, I thought there were a few gems in the 2099-verse. Doom was probably the highlight, but I found the earlier issues of X-Men to be pretty good as well. I'd be interested in a revival of sorts so long as it was limited to a series of minis.

Oh I agree, though they need the 90's shaken out of them ;) Hmmm Darkblade could have had a bunch of side kicks like Batman/wolvie. All the Robins could be wolvies jail bait. So a Shadowcat Wren (now a big bad adult super hero) Jubes could be the middle one That got "killed" Armor the current one. Then Daken = Damian.

It's be nice to see some of these characters again, but as a team? Eh, i'm not buying it. USAgent is still around, Ghost Rider (Danny) just returneed, as much as I want him to Scarlet Spider will probably not return, Thunderstrike and Nomad are dead and I don't really see a large need for them to return, Captain Marvel should return, but not in this way

Nomad, Thunderstrike, Scarlet Spider and Nate Grey does not seem like the 2099 universe.

Even if they were bringing it back, it wouldn't be that big a deal. They had a series of 2099 books a few years back (Daredevil, Black Panther, Mutant 2099), so its not like the brand hasn;t been seen since the 90s.

OK, the first "cover sketch" is the best I think. But when I saw the notes on the other one I was sure it was a prank. BUT, Danny Ketch returned (YES!!) and Ben Reilly (drum roll)...
will have a story in ASM family and he will also be in the X-Men/Spider-Man mini, issue #3, by Gage!! I loved Nate and Gennis btw...

I'm so glad that those "Leftovers" covers turned out to be fakes. The whole concept of these charcters together in a team would've been a big steaming turd...even by Joe Q's standards. And that's really saying something!

This actually inspired me to start working on a script around the idea, just as an exercise of working with someone else's concepts. I had to tweak it a bit (I replaced Danny Ketch, who's in Ghost Rider, with Vengeance, who fit the theme better, and renamed it Legacy) but I think it actually could have some potential in an Exiles sort of fashion.

The premise I came up with to justify this team was a government programme to use resurrected heroes who died pre-Secret Invasion as a team that they could be certain didn't have any sleeper agents on it, unlike the Initiative. USAgent, being the sole character in those concept sketches not to be dead, was the government-appointed leader and the one who could "turn off" the nanites keeping the others going, and thus keep them in line.

It certainly would need a lot of work before it became a feasible property -- such as the aforementioned lack of a female character and the fact that Nomad (and this pains me to say, I love Jack Monroe) is outclassed in every area by his teammates. But it's not impossible to think that a series like this could make a go of it in the right hands.

If anyone's interested, I can always post the few pages I came up with over in Arists & Writers. It's not like I'd ever have anything else to do with it. :smile:

You need to decide to be an inker or a penciler, don't do both. If your going to pencil then let someone else ink. Try that some time. An Inker will work in a better sense of 3 dimensionality.

You should also spend your time practicing drawing in backgrounds, you have no future if you cant do that. I also only see men characters, I assume women are more difficult for you to pull off. I'll tell you what an editor once told me, pick up some playboys and draw what you see there to practice.

Work on your faces, they seem a bit flat.
