Madam Mirage is out in TBP and I'm thinking of picking it up, I thought the initial previews were interesting. Anyone read it and care to share thoughts?

From the initial marketing I thought it was a 1930s crime drama--an idea I liked--but it was really some kind of cyperpunk female Punisher thing. It was okay, but I wasn't left clamoring for more.
I checked out the trade, seemed pretty good. The only reason I didn't get it was cause I was getting the individual issues as they came out.
I really liked the series, it set up an interesting story and it was kinda unconventional. Only the end did seem to wrap things up a bit too tidy, but I think this series was definitely worth reading! :D

Madame Mirage was ok. It was a little bit different in some ways than a lot of the junk that is out now but it wasn't so great that I felt it was an essential read.
Definitely worth getting. It's one of the stories that gains a lot by being read in collected form rather than single issues.

I didn't even know a trade was out! I enjoyed the first issue and was waiting for the trade, but I thought the series dropped off around #3. I'll have to pick this up sometime.

I really enjoyed it.
Dini's surprise twist on who Madame Mirage is was good, and the whole world seemd fleshed out enough to be believable.
I thought that there were some conceptual similarities between Black Summer and Madame Mirage, in that both worlds had a similar rationale for the existence of superheroes, but i liked the Mirage world more, as the consequences seemed more thought out.
it was'nt the greatest series ever, but i would like more if possible, and maybe some more stuff on where the other heroes and villains ended up.

You can look forward to more Madame Mirage in 2009 as we are planning Season 2 with Paul Dini now!
Take care,

The first 3 issues are great stand-alone stories. Although I was hoping for a bigger finale, overall it was a great read. But like a couple people have already said, it's not an essential read, but the story is really well done.

I'll have to pick it up. I was getting the individual issues but I'm missing issues #2 and #3 and can't find them anywhere.

anywhere? O.o
if not, sounds like a good reason to get the trade, right? ;)

I bought the preview and I was pretty excited for the book, but then I couldn't find any issues anywhere. Until like, two months ago, when I found all six while trade waiting.
It was really worth the wait, I think. A very fun story with excellent art and a style not seen very often in American comics. Can't wait for season two. Or I guess I can.

I also thought it was going to be a 1930s crime drama/magician type of thing.
I didn't match my expectations but I still bought most of the issues and enjoyed reading them.

I was very impressed with it. The writing and the art helped tell a unique story(then again i spend north of 60 a week at my LCS) better to spend it on this than a car payment. But this was a really good book, anyone here read spawn godslayer im wondering what the heck happened with it.

Finally got a hold of this at Fallcon a few weeks ago. Very good story! I like the idea of the bad guys going legit to go underground. I didn't see the reveal about Mirage coming at all, so kudos to Dini for that. If there's another volume, I'm so there to buy it.

Liked the idea, the general look of the character and I'm a big Paul Dini fan... but really, the comic itself just didn't impress me.
At first it seemed like an update of Will Eisner's Lady Luck... which is pretty cool... but enh... it just seemed to me (aside from the main character) to be a pretty bland, early Image era thing to me. The art really didn't impress me at all... not bad, but pretty bloody generic.
Which is a shame.

I liked the first season, but not really crazy about it. Look forward to the next one.

I liked it -- a fun mini that has a decent twist in issue 3. Dini's writing was solid, and Rocafort is the man. Looking forward to Season 2.

I've only read a few and yet to pick up the trade but after really anticipating this book after all of the 'Who Is Madam Mirage?' ads on the Top Cow site and else where I was left feeling a little let down by the comic. Art and story wise; don't get me wrong I love Rocafort's art but I felt that in the few issues I read it was very hard for me to follow some parts. Because of his working style he leaves some backgrounds unfinished or highly stylised and I had some trouble following the story because I couldn't figure out where characters were in relation to each other or what they were doing. Those are just my quick personal thoughts though, either way that won't stop me grabbing the trade and having a bigger look.
