Are all of you enjoying All Star? Give me some feedback cuz i'm a lil half and half on it. Is this something you would recommend to others cuz i know there were some negative feelings about it before.

Tough question. I started to like it, then when issue 7 hit, I could barely take it anymore. However, I really did enjoy issue 9, I thought it was really well put together and wrapped things up nicely. I haven't read 10 though, so we'll see. i dont know if I can keep reading if its going to take 9 issues for me to enjoy the series.

Beautiful art though.

I'm enjoying this series. It's a different take on an iconic character and it does have it's moments. On the other hand, it would be much more enjoyable if it came out on a regular basis. By the time a new issue comes out, I've already forgotten what happened in the previous issue.

i like it it has never been bad to me but it has not always been great. i would like to see more of Bruce Wayne in the stories.

I'm enjoying it so far. I like this take on Batman, specially for a young inexpirienced Batman, and it's interesting to see how Robin changes Batman. I also like the Contrast with the other books, For Example, in DKSA Batman and GL are friends, And I mean Friends (Batman trusted GL to save him even though he was across the galaxy, GL only gave his adress to him of all people and when he was about to leave, Batman begged him not saying that they can still win) in here, well they aren't so friendly towards each other. I also like the Character development in only 9 issues. And of course It's Fun as hell.

My only biff is those damn delays! 2 issues in an year.

reading it is very annoying and frustraing sometimes because you get the feeling it could have been so much better if Miller approached it more carefully and fleshed it out a little maybe. it doesnt even appraoch the detailed and deliberate construction of Dark Knight Returns or even DKSA. but then you remember how much it really is a refreshing and timely new take on Batman so it's all good. This and Morrisons fun new 'silver age' Batman should be the way ahead in the main titles imo. I get sick of the nerdy seriousness in batman comics

If you love violent Asian films or American films from the 80s that are high and violence and low in content this book is for you as long as you realize this Batman and Robin can never and should never exist in the DCU proper.

Jim Lee's artwork is amazing. Miller's story is horse manure. I dropped it after issue 3.

To me this makes perfect sense as a prequel to DKR.

My fave book on the shelves(when it's on the shelves) today.

I love it, esp. the general fanboi vitriol that it seems to inspire. It literally has the purists frothing at the mouth and soiling their trousers in moral umbrage.

And Jim Lee's art is sumptious.

I think I'll wait until it hits trade paperback in 2024. Given how slow I'm hearing Miller is about making these issues and how long it's likely to come out in a trade format I'm not in a rush on this one.

but at the same time if you've yet to read any of it...you have a nice treat waiting.

i wish it was at issue 10 and not 5 when i started reading but hey, whattya gonna do?

i'm saying if you read the 10 issues that are out...it'll be a damn good time...

we can say what we want about the lateness of the book, it's only 2 issues behind AS-Supes

I figure this title has to hit tpb eventually and I get a feeling that I want to read the whole thing. I've heard only a little about all star supes and that has me faintly curious but I"ve been too busy importing music scores and dealing with job and family stuff to follow comics too much. I'm waiting to get volume 2 of Barefoot Gen sent to me, if that gives you any indication how far behind the times I am. ;)

i'd suggest reading all star bats and supes. great reads and no tie-in books that also come out monthly
