Just wondering - perhaps this has been addressed elsewhere and I've missed it (if so, sorry) - when what's happening with Final Crisis is going to affect the content of the rest of the DCU?

In Batman, we have Bats running loony around town, yet in FC, he's been captured and tortured/mindwiped (who knows).

Has the whole of Batman RIP played out before FC? or is it after? With GL, at least that's happening out of continuity, Superman can sort of get away with it with his 3D adventures happening with time frozen - but his monthly has the same kinda problem as Bat's...

At this moment there are no tie-in issues with any other titles.

The impact of FC won't be felt until the main event ends. I believe Johns is doing Flash: Rebirth which will replace the current Flash series for awhile and will deal with Barry's return (duh) and Morrison will be doing a Fifth World mini series (I think).

I also hope for a new Trial's of Shazam maxi dealing with Mary Marvel, if she gets redeemed at the end of FC. But that's just me.

As for R.I.P Grant is doing a two issue story arc after R.I.P that will show what Batman is doing leading up to FC.

Yes. Which would have been January, but DC have conveniantly cooked up "Faces of Evil" to play for time before the consequences set in, due to delays.

I'm looking forward to Faces of Evil. Mostly because Anarky will be back in Robin.

But i'm sure it will be referanced in other titles. Such as Nemesis making fun of Diana when she got turned into a Warthog

No no.

All those Previews titles are just a snowscreen. Once Final Crisis is done, the DC Universe just closes its doors.

That's why they've been maintaining the Vertigo firewall, so they've still got something to publish.

I'm sure FC will be mentioned at least

The neat thing is, the closing pages of Final Crisis simply spin off all the Vertigo titles into their own universe. Constantine has never met a superhero. The Sandman was never in an issue of the Justice League, and so on.

The thing is that the DC Universe titles have all been underperforming compared to the backlist trades and Showcase editions, and they worked out that the new books just cause confusion. So that world's being confined to the nostalgia market, while DC concentrates on its hardcore market of selling Watchmen books.

So they're gonna move all the DCU creators to Vertigo.

Judd Winick writes Sandman! Art by Ed Benes!
Geoff Johns takes over Fables and tackles 1000 more obscure fables - with art by George Perez!
Didio personally writes Swamp Thing, with art by Ian Churchill, and commences the series by raping and killing Abby!
Judd Winick also writes Constantine! Art also by Ed Benes!

Did you get the memo too?

The downside is that everyone's going to have to wear capes and fin helmets.

And finally, all the Vertigo womens will giant breasts.

Cannot wait for Joe Benitez's take on DEATH WITH BIG BREASTS, written.......of course......by Judd Winick.
