What I mean is that should the remaining members of Alpha Flight, along with Wolverine, get together to find peace within themselves and find closuer over the lost of their teammates ? :frown:

If THAT is wot you meant...then my answer is a resounding "Hell NO"!!!...(I likes him lots, but I DO NOT need to see Wolvie in ANOTHER book...seriously)however...should (the ORIGINAL) Alpha Flight find their way back into the MU...Oh YESYESYES!!!!...(though it may be a trifle bit difficult...should they decide to not go with the "they're back 2gether again...It's MAGIC" route.)...ah, false hope...you fickle, damnable mistress.

Who's still alive from AF?

I think the Beaubiers would be GREAT in X-Force personally.

There's already an easy loophole for bringing Alpha Flight back to the Marvel U set up by Lobdell in the last issue of the third series. I just wish someone would go ahead and use it to bring the "deceased" members back.

I avoided this series like the plague, but I'm not above using it to get the real Alpha Flight back; so what's the loophole?

I think they'd be better suited to Uncanny. Jean-Paul's terrorist above-the-law days are behind him.

As for the question at hand, I guess they could do it in a mini, sans Wolverine.

As at the end of the series there were two versions of Guardian, Heather Hudson, Snowbird, Shaman, Northstar, Aurora and Puck in the current timeline. The current versions of the Guardian, Vindicator, Snowbird, Shaman and Puck (as well as Earthmover) were in space as of Alpha Flight#6.

I just say make the old team members that died skrulls and go back to the basics. Hell maybe even put wolverine on the team.

Puck
Heather Hudson
Mounty guy with the flying Horse
Sasquatch
Snowbird
Box
Wolverine
Shaman
North Star
Aurora

Halfway through the 3rd series, members from the original team (Guardian, Vindicator, Shaman, and Puck) had gone to the Plodex homeworld to return a clutch of Plodex eggs. However, in the last storyarc, an accident brings temporal copies of most of the original Alpha Flight - from a time before Hudson's first "death" - to the present. When this happened, there was no indication given that this temporal version had actually replaced the current members that went into space.

I would say yes they should but not in the way you have laid out. Having Northstar and Aurora on the team would be a pick plus. What you need to do is find a writer who can inject the same kind of feelings that Captain Britain and MI 13 holds. I am not British but reading his book you get this huge burst of pride when Captain Britain talks about his country. You need that from an Alpha Flight book. Depending on who is alive and who is avaible I would structure a team much like Captain Britain and MI13. Bring characters from all over Canada, insert a feeling of pride/patriotism from a qualified writer and a very steady, talented artist.

I know Carey did the insta-fix, but I'd still like to see JP dealing with his Hand conditioning on some level. Putting him on a covert wetworks squad taking orders from Wolverine (the man who literally killed him) is pretty ripe with possibility. I actually would really like to see Betsy on the team with him too, given their similar experiences...

JM I don't really care much about though, she can pass.

The original AF would be good to see. I don't think that Wolverine is needed on this team however.

Who's still alive from AF?
Aurora
Northstar
Sasquatch
Marrina (albeit comatose in the ruins of one of the Master of the World's lairs)
Talisman
Madison Jeffries
Diamond Lil
Windshear (depowered)
Wildchild
Flex (depowered)
Manbot (status unknown)
Murmur (status unknown)
Radius (depowered)
Ghost Girl (status unknown)
Yukon Jack (mentally incapable)
Snowbird (joined Hercules' God Squad, but this may have been the temporal copy)
And of course Mannikin, Persuasion, Goblyn, Pathway, Withfire and Feedback, but who knows what happened to any of them.

Again, it's still not confirmed whether it was the originals or the temporal copies of Guardian, Puck, Shaman and Vindicator that were killed by the Collective.

If it was the originals who died, when did they return from the Plodex world and then where did the temporal copies go? And what became of James and Heather's baby? And what happend to Earthmover after they got back?

If it was the temporal copies who died, then the originals may still be in space, but what became of the temporal copies of Aurora and Northstar?

Thanks for the answers earlier, guys.

For a new ALPHA FLIGHT series, you use the temporal copies as an excuse to construct a team that is the same as when John Byrne left the book, and pretend that everything that happened after Byrne didn't happen. Since Byrne himself would refuse to do it, hire Fred Van Lante and Phil Jiminez as they are both big fans of the characters and series and not to mention are talented individuals in their own right. You've got a book that would probably make the top 30 every month.

Ok, go do this, Marvel....

Seriously, DO NOT INCLUDE WOLVERINE IN THIS!
Why should an X-team or superhero team in general depend on him just to boost an image and sales? What next, he joins X-factor and the fantastic four?

NO MORE WOLVERINE on any more teams!
Alpha Flight sounds like a good idea in general, a reunion, but NO Wolverine!

There are good ideas in this thread. I think Wolverine makes sense in this context. Unlike the oversell in all other books, this would have a "coming home" feel that would be nice, even a reigning in of his character that would be back to basics.

Honestly, I disagree with you for three reasons:
1. I really want an Alpha Flight book, with the original team, and set in the present.
2. I want Wolverine out of all X-Books, permanently.
3. Alpha Flight would be a more natural fit for him.

I 100% endorse the return of the original Alpha Flight. Preferably with a skilled writer who has READ their classic issues and has something to say with the characters.

ALPHA FLIGHT should DEFINITELY return and the book should be written by Claremont and drawn Salvador Laroca.

The team roster should be large and consist of the following characters.

Guardian (the ORIGINAL Mac Hudson)
Vindicator
Northstar
Aurora
Talisman
Sasquatch
Snowbird
Windshear (repowered)
Puck
Puck's daughter (who's name I can't recall at the moment)
Radius
Flex
Murmer
Youcon Jack
Major Mappleleaf (the one from the 3rf AF series)
Wyre
Feedback
Manequin
Centinual
Nemesis
Diamond Lil
Madison Jeffies
Box (the original one)

The team would be the superhuman division of the Royal Canadian Mounties.

You know, looking over that list, most of the most facinating characters in Alpha Flight are the female ones...

Maybe, to stand apart, they should do an all female Flight series,

VIndicator
Talisman
Snowbird
Puck Jr.
Diamond Lil
Murmur

That would be a pretty sweet team...

I think this would be a good mini-series if anything. But the team roster would have to be a bit slim. Grouping too many characters can be overwhelming and not many of them will get the proper treatment which might anger some fans if their character is not given the spotlight. Therefore Wolverine should not be included, though it might help with sales.

Team Roster should be:

1. Snowbird
2. Guardian
3. Aurora (quickly return to an xmen series)
4. Northstar (quickly return to an xmen series)
5. Puck
6. Sasquatch

That's just my say though

Fair enough, I prefer to keep him in Uncanny, his original X-team, X-force, and Alpha Flight. I'm just annoyed how he's overused is all I'm saying... just trying to prove a point about me not liking him being on another team.

I'd like to see Alpha Flight back, albeit I probably wouldn't bother with an ongoing, maybe a mini. Also, Guardian needs to be Canadian. Having that Collective guy (who's from Alaska) wear the Canadian flag just doesn't sit right with me, and I'm not even a Canuck.

As much as I'd like to see some incarnation of the classic team back together, I think this is a good time to try something different again, just not quite in the way the "All New" Alpha Flight did things. I think that "All New" team was just too weird and "specific" to work. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for uniqueness, but that team just never felt right to me. And w/ more than half the team not wearing an actual costume, it just felt very unofficial and amateurish.

Although I haven't really thought of any actual specifics for a new Flight, I think one thing should be a must: there has to be a patriotic-themed leader on the team (not USAgent-level extreme of course). The Avengers had Cap, Excalibur/MI13 has Captain Britain, so Canada's premier superhero team should have someone similar, whether it be a new, actually Canadian, Guardian, or someone else (heck, even a new, thoughtfully imagined Major Mapleleaf could work). Speaking of the name "Guardian," I always thought, although cool, it was a tad too generic; especially for a character that should be representing a country. I wish they could've used a name like Captain Canada/Canuck, but I believe those are already taken. Still, my belief stands, and I think any new Alpha Flight needs the leader to be wearing the flag, and preferably, some patriotic name as well.

I just want Windshear and Weapon Omega to become big Marvel superstars and spin off into their own books for awhile... Especially Weapon Omega! And the whole Omega Flight team should be wearing red & white uniforms, that's the most cutting edge i've ever seen in my life!

U.S.Agent and Beta Ray Bill are apart of this new Omega Flight team. Should John Walker get a new identity for awhile? One that's never been heard of before? Something with a red & white outfit?

Something with a red & white outfit? If you're suggesting Walker become some new Guardian (or otherwise some Canadian-themed hero), then that just wouldn't work. Walker's too nationalistic to put on another country's flag. He already has a problem with being assigned to Canada, so I don't see him wanting to extend his stay, much less become its symbol.
