It won't be Brand - it will be Brand/Emma/Dazzler/Karma/WhateverwomenisappearinginUncannythesedays!
I can't decide if Abigail Brand will look like a traced Ashley Scott, or a traced Nevee Campbell.
Seems like a 50/50 chance.

If she's in more than one frame she'll probably have a good chance of looking exactly like both.

This is a correct answer.

Beast is the ultimate proof that Land no longer bothers to draw. Though Beast's look now varies greatly from artist to artist, they have all managed to give him enough expression to indicate a human mind exists within his cranium - except for Land. God forbid he have to put forth some thought and effort to give a character life.
While I wholly respect your opinion, and agree to a point, I keep having flashbacks of Romita's Beast from Enemy of the State. Nothing could be lazier than that.

I don't remember that. You don't happen to have a link?
I have seen some horrible renditions - the latest Wonderman/Beast mini was not good, but I gave the artist a few points for trying.

Forget about Hank, the real question is why isn't Nightcrawler being featured in these sexual escapades in Uncanny. He is the biggest ladies man on the team after-all, you can't deny that. His charm and charisma help him get whoever he wants, plus his tail which just blows peoples minds with it's possibilities. I'd like to see him hook up with Dazzler.

Land hasn't been able to find porn with a pointy tail involved.

I never really considered himself a real ladies man it was more just an act.
I mean how can you be a ladies man and a religious catholic at the same time?

Nightcrawler was a lady's man before he was written as being so religious. I frankly enjoy the lady's man more.

And i agree the Lady's man is more charming, of course i'm agnostic so i'm biased.

I don't know how many but his popularity with the women has been alluded to often. In the Nightcrawler series Beast told Nightcrawler that he was getting a complex because they were both blue and furry but Beast couldn't get a date and Nightcrawler was always trying to get out of relationships.

I've read a couple of issues of that and i really liked it.
I guess people would rather date a fuzzy blue elf/demon than a man-beast.
The only real relationships Nightcrawler has had was with his foster sister and a short term fling with that shi'ar lady.
I can't think of any other,.

He dated that nurse, Christine Palmer, flirted with Meggan for a bit, but not much came of it. I don't think Kurt gets into relationships, I just think he flirts. You were right earlier, he is slightly religious, so I think his philosophy is probably more aiming at charming a lady and getting her affections. He likes the chase. He "dirty deed" isn't his main goal.

I just read it also, and whilst I don't feel as strongly negative about it as you...I really am left kinda confused by the whole thing.
It does feel sort of empty and almost juvenile, both in characterisation and plot, when compared to the infinitely superior X-Force. I can't begin to decribe how much I hate the Bondage Queen.
The biggest problem I have is, with Uncanny using the Astonishing cast, Astonishing being off in it's own world and not really mattering anyway and Legacy being an Xavier book...we've basically gone from having three books to accomodate all the X-Men, to one book...
With a cast this size, alot of characters are simply not getting enough panel time to do them justice. Whether it's Dazzler and her whole one page with Pixie, Colossus who didn't even appear this issue or Iceman and Cannonball who don't even get to be in a book...if Uncanny is going to be the only book that features most of the X-Men, once a month just doesn't cut it.
On the plus side, the characters who are getting decent panel time are being fairly well represented for the most part. Wolverine and Nightcrawler being high points.
Pixie on the other hand is an absolute disgrace, She just doesn't work here at all. There is simply no logical explanation for her actions - why she'd leave the X-Men to hang around a bunch of non-mutants that she suddenly randomly knows instead of hooking up with her former classmates who are also in San Francisco. Same with the random she went to see Dazzler with - I hate how they are using her as such a large part of the comic whilst not even acknowledging the abundance of other young mutants in San Fran who are also her friends.
She's not even the same character anymore - she's like some bizarre Kitty Pryde/Jubilee hybrid. She's been completely changed to fit the mold of "rookee female X-Man". And now she's tearing off on a scooter?! The Megan Gwynn I'm famliar with would be TERRIFIED of the very thought!
Pixie was never my favourite New X-Man, but she was fun and amusing. Now...I kinda hate her. Alot.
Also, I thought Empaths powers were emotion manipulation like Wallflowers were? What on earth did he do to Logan and Kurt?

That's fair enough. But she didn't need changing. She was a really fun and unique character. Now she's just female X-rookee #4. Here atleast. She's certainly preferable in Carey's Secret Invasion X-Men #2, both in dialogue and appearance.
As for hanging with non-mutants she did say she wanted to feel normal again and so i guess she feels more normal hanging with regular people than the x-men.
Again fair enough, but when and where would she ever have met these people? She only just got to San Francisco. Are we really expected to believe she hit the streets on her own looking for new friends, not even bothering to interact with her old Xavier classmates to the extent that none of them wanted to see Dazzler with her? And if the mutant thing didnt work out as she planned...why not just go back home to Wales? She only went back with the X-Men to join her friends there in the "new term".

I mostly agree with this. Fraction's work on Iron Fist, Iron Man, and the Hawkeye issue of YA Presents was amazing, but after 3 issues with Bru, it's truthfully been a drag just thinking about having to read Uncanny X-Men, if only because it's supposed to be mandatory.
Considering the fact that reading comics should be fun, feeling bad about having to read something I disdain in order to keep up with the whole franchise is very frustrating.

Yeah, Carey turned her from the awkward-and-scared-but-trying Pixie we knew into wisecracking and confident lady lead #752 in Messiah Complex. It happened in a heartbeat and was horrible. This Pixie is a little better, but she's still not really Pixie. There's nothing wrong with the girl growing, but she should do so in an organic way that maintains what was unique about her.

I didn't see what Pixie did in Messiah CompleX as her turning confident and wisecracking. To me it seemed more like she was giving in to the dark influence of her Soul Dagger and the black magic that filled her soul.
She wasn't a fully confident character in the Free Comic Book Day issue either, she was still scared-but-trying. That is until she let the Soul Dagger control her again, or at the end where she used her teleportation spell a lot. She still seemed nervous to me.

It's not so much a matter of how she turned confident and wisecracking, though, because her character was still changed, be it by Soul Dagger or bad writing.
Besides, the innocent-girl-struggles-against-corruption-by-black-magic theme has already been done, thoroughly and well, with Illyana, so it doesn't exactly lend anything unique to Pixie.

Carey is the one that gave her the new personality in the FCBD comic. And she was the first student to come back to San Francisco..before the broadcast. I dont think any of her "friends" are back in San Francisco yet. The Young X-men just got there..and aside from Hisako we haven seen any other students.
And along comes Pach with his "turn around Brett's negative post" post of the day...
I'm pretty sure that Bru & Fractions plans and personality were in place before Carey's FCBD came out...it had to be a lead in afterall. Doesn't matter who created the monster anyway. The point still stands that this is not the same character, and that's my problem. Her actions here are unbelievably ludicrous. It doesn't work for the character at all, hence, they change the character to fit the role. This is Nextwave Boom Boom level reworking here...except Nextwave was genious and this is...not.
What's with this "friends" business? They weren't now?
Also, good catch on Hisako. God I wish she was here instead of Pixie. It's also pretty dumb considering she is an X-Man in Astonishing now...so where is she here?

I enjoyed the issue (even if it's not the best writing offered--by the writers or by other x-books...I find the book fun and a pretty good read overall and I like the direction it has taken since the last crossover. I've been waiting to like Cyclops again for a while, and finally with his latest turns after the crossover--it's happening.).
I was surprised/happy to see this Hellions cameo:
http://i33.tinypic.com/35jhvz7.jpg
(Clearly, Frost's education system leaves Catseye sleepy-faced).
Karma kicking ass, Cyclops dark & brooding, Angel helping out, Dazzler back on the team and a lot of other X-staples serving as well...I think it's a good time to be reading the core book (it's much better than it has been in a good while, for me).
