Me too. I hope Shulk kicks Phyla's butt. I dont know how PADs going to handle it but it seemed like Wendell and She-Hulk were kinda tight in the Avengers.

Interesting. PAD's writing it, or else I'd have assumed it was somehow tied in with Dan Slott's Reckoning War.
It will be cool to see what PAD does with a return to Phyla, though, in light of her development since he first created the character.

Considering that PAD created Phyla-Vell, I doubt he's going to just have her get knocked around for kicks.

Honestly, this looks like nothing more than an excuse to get a lot of power female characters together for no other reason than to have petty cat fights and eye rolling bonding moments as they face some threat together.
I was sold before it was even announced.

Holy hell! I gotta check back here more often! This news is rocking my world right now!
It's kind of interesting how She-Hulk has become kind of, sort of, maybe a little bit of a cosmically involved character in the past couple of years. Working in the Magistrati for The Living Tribunal, sitting in judgement at cases involving Watchers, being the catalyst for The Reckoning War (when and if it will happen), marrying a character that had been and was the Stargod, the trial involving Starfox that took place on Titan (and also involved Moondragon, Mentor, Phyla and Thanos), saving the planet of Skardon from The Champion alongside characters like Adam Warlock, Gamora, Pip, Drax, The Silver Surfer and Gladiator and having her biggest enemy (Titania) getting her hands on the Infinity Gem of Power (and even Jennifer herself for a few minutes).
If The Reckoning War really is slated to happen sometime in the near future, and it does involve cosmic aspects of the Marvel Universe, maybe PAD is just doing his part in laying more of the groundwork so that She-Hulk fits more naturally into those aspects of the story.
Whatever it's purpose (bigger scheme or just a one-off), I'm TOTALLY stoked for this!!

That would be neat if Seductra (Thanos's assistant from Slott's run) was the villain of this one-shot.
Really, I would just love to see more characters from Slott's run in the book, and not even necessarily the supporting cast. Characters like the Magistrati or Starfox would be great to see, IMO.

It's his thing, don't fret about it.
As for this story, I'm actually too all that interested in what P.A.D. does with Phyla (I mean really, what can he do) but on the dynamic between She-Hulk and Gamora. In one of the earlier Slott stories Gamora trained She-Hulk to take on the Champion of the Universe; even though it mostly went to waste, they still spent a lot of time together and now Gamora is a very different person.

A cross-over with Guardians of the Galaxy would be killer! It's probably my third favorite title being published by Marvel at the moment (She-Hulk & X-Factor take the top two slots), and as odd as it kinda sounds, She-Hulk's character (at least the more sarcastic quippy side of her character) would probably fit in pretty flawlessly alongside characters like Gamora, Rocket Raccoon and Star-Lord. I know there probably ain't a lot of hope for a direct cross-over as we just finished one with X-Factor, the whole Secret Invasion business is concluding right away, and this Cosmic Collision issue seems to be kind of just that (minus the cross-over bit... ) but I'd buy it in a heartbeat! (Along with a Nova cross-over... my fourth favorite title currently being published by Marvel. Marvel is kicking it with their cosmic characters these days).

Was there a contest and Jen won?
Was she pissed that Phylla's wearing her buddy Wendell's quantum bands?
Did Phylla get killed?!?!?

Totally agree with you on Marvel and the cosmic. They almost lost me, then there was Annihilation, Conquest, Nova's series, GotG (my favorite Marvel title) and even bringing back old school, no human counterpart Thor.
Well she's been in cosmic situations before with Byrne's Sensational She-Hulk. She-Hulk (2004) and even back when she was a member of FF. It's not totally new to her. Hell, she had a pretty important role in the assault on Thanos in Infinity Gauntlet. Thankfully she is one of those versatile characters that can be used in different settings.
And She-Hulk, Rocket Raccoon and Grout all on the same page, if even for one panel. Awesome.

Merrick that's the one. As soon as I saw the character I knew I had seen him before somewhere in the distant past. Great character wish they would give him is own title again, even if it was a mini-series. Haven't bothered with Guardians of the Galaxy after getting the first issue as I wasn't that sold on a lot of the characters, though the art was pretty good.

Uhh, I don't get it.
Certain people who shall remain nameless were bitching about someone "preaching" their love about another character other than She-Hulk which this thread is supposed to be about and even treated the poster as if he had leprosy or something. Now I see all this Rocket Raccoon talk in this She-Hulk thread and that is acceptable?
Not to be the "hypocrisy police" or anything but am I the only one that is seeing this? Just goes to show you that old saying is true, "There is none so blind as he who will not see."
In this age of so-called "tolerance"...oh wait...it's only tolerance for what's politically correct at the time. My bad. It really isn't tolerance at all then is it?
NOW LET'S HOPE SHE-HULK KICKS SOME COSMIC BUTT WITH THAT QUANTUM SWORD!!!

And I really don't see how it is unrelated seeing how Jennifer and Wendell were in Avengers together. Add to that she had a little crush on old Quasar makes for this Phyla appearance very interesting to say the least. Plus, Jennifer is holding Phyla's sword triumphantly over head. Also, add to that how Peter David wrote her so....what is with some of these a-holes here? You guys need to get a piece, lol.

Seriously though, She-Hulk had a crush on Quasar? I'm a Quasar fan of the Nth degree, and I call Shennanigans, good sir.
It is interesting to see She-Hulk get back in touch with her more cosmic side. For the past 10, 15? years or so they've been intent on grounding the marvel characters in more realisitic stories, and a lot of heroes who used to go galavanting off on space adventures... haven't been.

People are getting too excited over a cover. Seriously, it doesn't mean anything. It's a She-Hulk title so it's obvious why she's on it, and Quasar's sword is a recognized symbol of the current cosmic scene, so She-Hulk is holding it to signal that this is a cosmic story. It's not that deep.

Love the Lava Men storyline that scan came from.
I'm wondering now, with the cat out of the bag about a certain character who's caused a bit of hubbub in this thread  in Nova #17, what's the status of Phyla going to be during the Cosmic Collision issue coming in December? I'm assuming that not too much can happen in regards to the situation in only a couple of months time as it seems like Wendell's appearance would be limited to certain books, but it could still have an interesting spin that could end up being seen in Cosmic Collision.

Probably barely remembers him; "Wendell? Who? Quasar... Quasar... oh yeah, I kind of remember him. Didn't he have black or brown hair?" Good times are had by all.
Wasn't the only time, either.

Those times didn't mean anything either. She has called lots of male superheroes cute many times; hell, after Slott's She-Hulk run it could chalked up to Starfox now anyway.

Um, is it wise for me to get dragged into this?
Anyway, IIRC, both Jan and Jen did a "rate the Avenger males" during the Atlantis Attacks annuals.
I think he was a solid 7 by both. Jan thought he was a little too young for her while Jen thought Wendell was what a young Cap probably was like in both looks and personality.
As mentioned, Jen likes the male form and just plain likes sex. She would bed Quasar but she would bed most other ale heroes as well if they were available...

Nice find, I have those Annuals around somewhere. You know I just recently reread that one Avengers issue where she said Wendell was cute. Then I remembered the She-Hulk "on trial" story where she said who she slept with or something, so I went with it  After that, Daeji forced my hand so I went through the other She-Hulk/Quasar Avenger issues and found those couple panels. Interesting. Wonder if Peter David would roll with that? We know She-Hulk did errr...would! LOL!
