I'm interested in reading some Ghost Rider. Where's a good place to begin? The newest volume? One of the trades? I know nothing about the character right now. Is the new volume even good?

Well, I jumped into Ghost Rider with issue 20 of the newest ongoing. I didn't have any problem understanding the plot but I did get info on GR's history through wikipedia and such sites.

Agreed.

Check Wikipedia for the old stuff and start picking up Vol. 4 from the start.

The trades are really, really cheap ... I'm guessing the back issues are, too.

The current writer started with #20, so that seems like the best place to jump in.

Heck, I jumped on this series with #24 and I've had no problem so far.

Hmm. I Just picked up Ghost Rider 26, as a must have Monkey variant lol.

I'll read it and give an opinion about it, regarding whether I feel lost or not. And I"ve never read a Ghost Rider comic before. Didn't even see the movie.

But every week, I spend at least 50 dollars at the comic store, so I can probably give a reasonable review for new readers.

Although I know nothing about the current ghost rider, all you need to know is that a confrontation between the current and original ghost rider is going to take place next issue.

Overall, I thought this was a great start. I might just buy the next issue to see the battle between two ghost riders.

I loved how these characters, that I've never heard of, just got taken out for my reading pleasure. And the One-Eyed guy took a set of nails right to the pupil, quite funny, even though its not presented that way. It's all serious, violent and a solid read.

And, I just remembered that I read the Ghostrider tie ins for World War Hulk, so i guess i've read a ghostrider story before. But this looks as good as any jumping on point.
