Not a bad issue. The first third was pretty boring with an overly long visit from the ever boring Nemesis. After this though matters certainly picked up & I rather enjoyed the rest of the issue. Though & I am not sure if this is the fault of the writer or artist but the end section was somewhat confusing to follow.
I was interested to see WW's riposte to one of the other characters attack on her costume.
My only other negative point was the thinly veiled attack on Red Sonja in the film, scene they showed, hopefully this was more against the film than the character herself. As considering like WW she has been a long distinguished & prominent female character did seem a bit uncalled for.
Definitely enjoying Gail's writing more now, just please can we be spared Nemesis, I would rather we saw more of the comedy Gorillas.

Can't say im completely crazy about this issue - but that's not to say it was at all bad.
I'm not completely crazy about Bernard Chang but this issue is quite a bit of a step up from his last issue on here.
the only thing that really bugs me is the pouty facial expressions and why where they both rolling there eyes in front of Diana's mother?
seem's a bit inappropriate.besides Diana doesn't really seem like the sarcastic type.
I was also confused by what Tom meant when he said to Diana's mom that "people aren't animals "
when she was clearly talking about beast's especially weird when the only human staying on that island is Diana's mom.
I did like how the first question out of her mouth was "have you slept with my daughter" that is usually the first thing a mom stereotypically asks isn't it?
Also why did her costume/uniform change between pages 9 and 10? and no hair either? is this something that happened to her during amazons attack?
The second chapter: not sure why she would ask two white gorrila's about them making a movie about her.. seems like that would be out of there range.
"thats an order ladies" is she a director or a military sargent?
I'm very curious about the Attorney and what WW knows about her and how she knows.
Also "turning her forced torment into love" i may be off but didn't Hippolyta admit she did have some feelings for Herc even tho he "took advantage" of her?
or maybe i misread that .. oh well.
I hope i'm not being too nitpicky Gail cause i'm sure you'll read this i was just a bit confused about somethings.

Also want to add that i sort of like Tom Tresser.
but i'm glad that Gail has enough sense not to do a complete throat shove on there romance and throwing in seeds of doubt for the people who may not like it.

Let me see if I can answer a couple questions for you, Pariah!
As always, I enjoy reading the comments of people at CBR even when they're not crazy about a book I did.
Let me see...
Okay, first, when Hippolyta is talking about how the animals are kept on the island out of love, it intentionally parallels her feelings about Diana. That she would be safe on the island, and that the rest of the world is full of peril. Of which Tom might be one. Tom picks up on that and says "animals aren't people" and Hippolyta goes all coy.
As for the costume change, it's a different person. It's Alkyone, apparently, who cut her way out of a megaladon and is loose on the island.
""thats an order ladies" is she a director or a military sargent? "
Neither, she's a producer, and believe me, they are tough. :)

i guess she was one of the amazons who were jealous of Lyta having a child?

But I won't be buying it or any other DC product due to the All-Star Batman incident.

That's absolutely correct, Captain of Hippolyta's personal guard, tried to assassinate Diana on the night of her birth.
And that's nice of you to say, that first bit, but trust me, I have acted like a complete jackass both on these boards and elsewhere. No excuse for it...I would prefer to be more like Kurt Busiek, who actually IS always nice and gracious! :)

I don't know what happened with that incident, but I'll tell you...things DO look different on the computer monitor from how they look in print. Print OFTEN reveals things you thought wouldn't show up, and by the time it's at the printers, it's really too late to do anything about it.

I really enjoyed this issue. The conversation between Hippolyta & Tom was a great take on the whole "new man meets the girlfriends family!"
I really have no problem with Diana & Tom. I don't understand the whole "he's not good enough for her" argument. Diana's been blessed with the gift of wisdom from Athena & to be able to read the hearts of men (to quote from Perez's fabulous run) so give Diana some credit in who she chooses!
Diana as DC's Virgin Queen is a bit ridiculous now, so letting her have a proper relationship (& all that entails) is a major step forward for this character.
I do feel that its all going to end in tragedy though. Tom's either going to die or do something to break her heart (& yes I'm probably contradicting my earlier paragaph!!) Let Diana have a bit of loving!!!!!!
Gail - if you are still reading these posts, can I ask a quick off thread question? What is your take on Diana's costume? I know you mention the colours are important to her in this story, but would you personally like to see the design change? I did like the Greek inspired WW costume the Dodson's designed for Donna & I could see Diana wearing that with style - though NO cape! I definitely agree with Edna on that!
WW & Secret Six & my 2 favourite DC titles - so keep up the brilliant work.

I know printing mistakes happen. But I don't know what's wrong with DC in general.
IDENTITY CRISIS was this hyped up storyline where someones wife gets raped from behind, and yet the immature writer has the story revolve around the mostly male heroes, reacting to it.
Then there is the seemingly never ending mega-events and year long/multiple issue storylines like INFINITE CRISIS, 52, FINAL CRISIS, BATMAN RIP, COUNTDOWN, and alot more I'm sure, combined with decompressed story telling.
The lack of respect for deadlines and the readers ("they'll buy it anyway"). Even without printing errors, the All-Star titles can never ship on time and their already supposed to be bi-monthly.
Then it turns out the "iconic portrayal" of Batman by Lee and Miller involve "G-d damn" alot, Batman slapping Robin and asking if he's retarded, reads either like a parody or a world where everyone is a Sin City character.
If they want to do Miracleman or Sin City in their mainstream comics, atleast put a Mature Readers warning or MAX Content or something.
The last straw for me was the lack of common sense DC exhibited by actually having someone actually letter the words in the first place. If there was going to be a black bar over them, why put the words in the first place?
Even though I really like Wonder Woman and Simone's writing I'm not going to continue supporting a company like this.

Hypollyta went wacko because Circe put a piece of a soul in her body when she resurrected her. Which made her a blood thirsty warlord and her noble amazon warrior's into child killers.

I'm sure with all the resources The DC's government has availible to it, they could find it.
Maybe Tom makes a deal with the devil kinda thing, the government will spare Diana if he gives up it's location or something.

Who is this Queen of Fables character then, we don't all have an instant knowledge of every DC character?
The Queen of Fables was originally a sorceress from another dimension until she was exiled to Earth. She reigned until princess Snow White defied her and she was trapped in the Book of Fables. Snow White used the book to turn fact into fiction and undo all the Queen's terrible acts.
Unfortunately, countless generations later the Queen was unwillingly released from her prison. She transformed Manhattan into an enchanted forest full of fantastic creatures extracted from folk tales. Then, she realized that Wonder Woman had a striking resemblance with Snow White and, believing the Amazon Princess to be her daughter confronts her, forcing her into a deep sleep in an enchanted forest. Fortunately, Aquaman awakens Wonder Woman with his kiss (As he was once a Prince, being now the King of Atlantis, it counts as a kiss from a Prince), and Batman discovers the book that the Queen had been trapped in. Eventually, the Justice League managed to stop her, by making her realise that she was no longer immortal and eternally beautiful in the real world, and lock her once more (by trapping her within a book on the United States Tax Code, where she could find nothing imaginative to use as a weapon), undoing her spell again. (JLA #47-49)
Eventually the Queen of Fables awakens and is none too happy. Since being defeated by the Justice League, who placed her in the U.S. tax code manual, she has somehow escaped and now has her sights set on her own Prince Charming, Superman. After transporting Superman to a Kryptonian glass forest, he is able to win his freedom and defeat the Queen. She is last seen standing over a young sleeping girl, saying "Sleep well, dear one. Keep me alive. Dream of me. Dream of me."
