Anybody know where I can get some fonts without paying for them or registering for some site that I will likely never visit again? Specifically, I am looking for an old english style font.

Thanks tons! My problem is finally solved. I went with Simply the Best. I found a nifty preview site here though.

Careful, Lew. Fonts are like crack - the first taste is free, but soon you're knockin' over convenience stores late at night to pay for some sans serifs.

I've been downloading free fonts like crazy since i found this thread :).
It is kinda addictive:"Ooh, i know a good way to use that font. Oh look how cool this title looks when i use this font!"

Really glad I had a good idea for once....! I have been getting by with the standard set for years but was always annoyed when I couldn't get exactly the right look and just settled for something in the ballpark. I have been restoring some really old work of mine and will post it in a new thread real soon, so be sure to check it out when I do!
Maybe I should try injecting some caslon or maybe shoot up some hevetica just to start with...
