Note the conspicuous absence of Final Crisis #7- previous issues of FC have ALWAYS appeared in the previews.
We'll see if it's just a blip. Because if DC's event ends up delay-ridden AND with fill-in art..... well.
Also? Nice to see they're actually referencing Darkseid's death in Countdown. Maybe this WILL make sense continuity-wise, albeit with a little tad of "retcon punch" Darkseid style. (To be fair, a God of Evil's interference is a bit better than 'punching reality'.)

Actually, I think that's still in continuity. Morrison and Tomasi are just connecting the dots since there's that disconnect.

I thought FC wasn't going to be a continuity-changing event? I suspect this is an attempt to clear up the mess created by Countdown but if so I don't really like feel like splashing out on something which exists purely to rectify previous mistakes.
From the little information given in the solicitation it does sound like a Retcon Punch! Part 2.

I think it is partially an attempt to streamline continuity to a degree, much as all crises seem to be. I've strongly suspected this was coming in some form ever since Morrison started dropping hints about how Countdown/DotNG/Final Crisis' continuity WOULD be resolved, and directly addressing the bizarreness of Sonny Sumo in the present day.

Who cares? Frank Quitely.
Well, probably 2 pages of Quitely, then a whole lot of "various".

Indeed. Granted based on the interview comments I get the sense that the Sonny Sumo and Mister Miracle disconnect was planned. The Countdown/Death of the New Gods one though seems more like a mopping up operation.

Indeed. I love Morrison, but it's really disappointing and frustrating the way this thing is becoming log-jammed.

I wonder if this will be similar to the Infinite Crisis Secret Files and show more of how Final Crisis came to be. Perhaps this is the book where we'll see more from the War in Heaven

I have a Countdown-related question that I was hoping someone could clear up for me: does Jimmy still know that Clark is Superman, or is everyone just ignoring the fact that that happened?

Yeah. I think since Countdown to Final Crisis essentially ballsed-up the DCU, Morrison and Tomasi are just trying to fix things once and for all. After this, I hope DC cools it with the big event books for awhile. I don't have a problem with weekly series, though, after 52 they haven't been doing fantastically. I mean, Trinity is alright, but it's nothing to write home about, as far as I'm concerned, what with its lackluster backups.
But still - Frank Quitely.
You make a damn fine point there, Mr. Walsh.

The latter (if ya can believe it!)
I think Jimmy's whole role from COUNTDOWN (superpowered multiversal sponge ZZZZZZZZZZZZ) is being ignored. Amongst other things, James Robinson said he's working on re-normalizing Jimmy "as a 22 year old kid" in the pages of SUPERMAN.
