Hey everyone. I was thinking of buying a big 'ole stack of comics this weekend due to a sale on one of those online warehouses, and I'm always interested in picking up limited series or ongoings that didn't last very long. Does anyone have a favorite Marvel hidden gem?

My two favorite hidden gems:

Slingers - my favorite comic of all time, with wonderful characterization and a cool premise; it's good to see them being used again

Green Goblin - close second after Slingers, Phil Urich is a great character who I don't think has been handled as well in Loners; this series was hilarious and action-packed

As far as what I may buy this weekend, I'm already thinking of picking up:

Fallen Angels
The Crew
Terror, INC
Machine Teen
Livewires
Annex
Rocket Raccoon
Slapstick

And I also just bought the first 40-odd issues of Darkhawk!

Any thoughts on these?

The old 90s Ellis/Manco Hellstorm series. Pretty underrated series - dark , creepy and some rather disturbing stories.

Rocket Raccoon is a great story filled with fun, whimsy, and action!

It's a little cartoony, but it's got good heart. Plus, it has Rocket flying a ship shaped like an Academy Award and a character named Wal Russ.

What's not to love?

Slingers
Waid & Andy Kubert's Ka-Zar run
Omega the Unknown (both really, but especially Letham's recent volume)
The Irredeemable Ant-Man
Green Goblin
Ellis' Hellstorm
Ellis' Druid

Up until recently, I'd have said The Hood mini and Marvel Boy, but both have been reprinted now that their respective characters are being used in high profile ways. Also, to the general comic public, I'd say Nextwave, but it's well known and beloved by most internet savy comic fans. Books of Doom and Madrox were great minis that were largely overlooked by the general comic buying public as well.

I second Iredeemable Ant-man. Agents of Atlas was a great mini. Peter Milligan's X-Force/X-Statix was very enjoyable. As far as obscure, the mini-series Conspiracy was great. It is about a reporter who finds out that the Marvel Universe may be one vast Conspiracy. Thanos Quest is also quite good and stands on its own despite being a lead in to how Thanos got the Infinity Gauntlet for the series.
