The past few days I reread my L.E.G.I.O.N. 89 collection and it's still as good as I remember it. Especially Vril Dox was one smart, heartless and cunning s.o.b. I haven't read much DC titles these days but where is Vril Dox now ? He is a too good character not be part of an ongoing series.

And whatever happened to Dox's and Stealth's brat ?

When did you leave off?

REBELS '90-something finished off the story wtih Dox retiring and leaving LEGION to Captain Comet. Braniac 3 lost his super-intelligence and Dox was raising him.

Dox showed up in the late 90s in some Superman vs Braniac thing but it wasn't much.

I've not seen him since.

He's been in the Adam Strange and Omega Men minis since then, the latter implying (if I read it correctly) that Baby Llryl was now dead (retcon punch). Adam Strange was excellent, but Omega Men was just okay, although it does set up a new status quo for Dox at the end that makes the series worthwhile.

He was also mentioned in the Lightning Saga in JLA/JSA.

Like Fanboystranger said he played big roles in Adam Stange: Planet Heist, Rann/Thangar War, and the Omega Men mini series. No one else from the main cast of LEGION was seen though just Dox. It does kind of suck that with all the cosmic characters getting so much exposure the LEGION hasn't gotten a new mini to at least show the current status of the group.

I would love to see Stealth, Garryn Bek, Stratta, Garv, Telepath, Lydea Mallor, and the rest again.

I read this and don't remember a thing about Dox even being part of the miniseries. Care to endulge to a clearly senile young man....?

There's also the new Brainiac status quo to deal with...

Dox was pursuing the Omega Men throughout the series. I'll throw spoilers around the ending just in case a Dox fan might want to track it down:

Dox's sentient space "armor" gains part of the power of the four cornerstones of creation and develops a housewife personality who feels it's her purpose to take care of Vril Dox, which, of course, annoys him to no end. Made me laugh hard, and by far the best part of the series.

That was pretty much the first thing I thought reading the new arc of Action Comics.

Also, Dox appeared in one page of the new Ran/Thanigar Holy War mini. Basically being told not to get LEGION involved.

I didn't follow R.E.B.E.L.S. I thought it was ridiculous that L.E.G.I.O.N was stopped and rebooted as R.E.B.E.L.S. However, I am gonna find those issues now.

Stealth, Garv and Telepath were very cool. Where are they these days ? Telepath and Lobo together was funny as hell.

Thx for the info, people.

That was the 1990's for ya. Everything old was becoming something new - AzBats, Reign of the Supermen, Artemis: Wonder Woman, Kyle Rayner....

But unlike those, R.E.B.E.L.S. just went away while the other higher-profile ideas reverted back to their old selves...

It's the 00s too, how many times have successful books like JLA and Teen Titans been restarted. The first issue bump is real, companies would be foolish not to use it.

REBELS was decent from start to finish. The ending was a bit rushed but the art was solid after the first 1 or 2 issues they switched to someone very solid. And Dox had some great character moments.
