Im planning to make a film franchise out of this game:
http://www.coolrom.com/screenshots/genesis/Altered%20Beast.gif
it will consist of 6 feature films and every 2 films will take place in a different time period:
1.Altered Beast (Game Adaption)
2. Altered Beast 2 (Greece)
3. Altered Beast : Reign of the Lion Pharoah (Egypt)
4. Altered Beast 4 (Egypt)
5. Altered Beast: The Jaguar Lord (Inca)
6. Alterd Beast 6 (Inca, W/Hero from first film)
What i would like to know if you think this would make a great movie and if you have any suggestions for it. im currently in the proccess of rewriting the script for the first film.
Thanks for any feedback.
oh and by the way, this is the cast i have in mind for the first film:
Hero: Micheal Phelps (if he can act)
Zeus: Liam Neeson
Neff ("Welcome to your doom") : Tim Roth
Athena: Hayden Panettere
Beasts: CGI/Andy Serkis
This would also be a 2 hour film

Have you optioned the rights?
If you don't have the rights you're not going to make the movie. Game rights can be incredibly hard to lock down. A friend of mine has a fantastic take on an 80's videogame and he's been thwarted for years, even though its owners have not been able to get a treatment together on their own.

There's a "b" in "dumb."
I've written my share of stuff that I don't own the rights to, but I'm always aware that when I do, it's most likely an exercise, rather than something that will ever see the light of day. Getting the rights to any game is difficult, more now than ever because the gaming industry has more money than the film industry does so they're now saying, "Why let Hollywood screw up our properties with crappy translations when we can do it ourselves?" (I honestly heard someone say that at the Hollywood & Games Summit summer 07.) That means it's even harder now than it was when my friend began pursuing a much older game more than 10 years ago. He still hasn't given up, but he's not currently writing that project either.

You're planning to make a movie out of a 1988 Sega game, to which you do not have the rights, starring a professional swimmer.
Forgive me, but even without the spelling, I question the accuracy of this statement.

LOL!
That's gonna be some friggin' screenplay to win best adaptation!
Who knows though, there's always the Saturn Awards.
Are you in high school, college, what?
That professional swimmer is on SNL now! Bruce Jenner is another former Olympian who made movies. None of them anything but frightening, but he made them!
Of course the thing to remember in casting is that you might write something with someone in mind, which is fine from a visual perspective, but by the time you're ready to shoot they could be too long in the tooth, dead, or worse, their career died before they did.

im in college taking classes for Cinema production.
Im taking a Filmaking Class which films short projects and a History of Movies class. ive already passed the Cinema info class in the summer.
@ Micheal P, as far as the spelling goes i was typing fast while posting this and as for Michael Phelps i kinda think he resembles the character alot. Remember it may change in the future once i get my carreer going.

This may be a bit premature, but I'll just say right now, I can't wait for Altered Beast 6!

Just maybe you might want to work on one movie before planning out six.
Walk before you run and all that jazz.

Walk before you run and all that jazz. Also, concentrate on making a few other, unrelated films first, as no one is going to trust a franchise/license to an untried, first-time director.

I don't know, I'm pretty sure no one really cares enough about Altered Beast to say different at this point.

Then maybe it's for the best.

have a sit down with someone in the business and figure out a ballpark game plan about getting yourself in position to do this. keep it close to the chest, nothing like a little buzz to convince some asshole to crap in it while he tries to get his piece of the pie...

Well, when you put it like that, it sounds silly.

Hero: Micheal Phelps (if he can act)
Why cast Michael Phelps in the first place?
And no, he can't act. Saturday Night Live when hosted has horrible.
