This issue was just awesome. The art was much tighter and the dialogue a lot better. Really felt like the writer got the characters voices a lot better than last issue.
Short and Sweet what happens:
The Inhumans take on the skrulls. Crystal is shown to be very formidable in this issue. Also liked her interaction with Medusa. Medusa grabs a skrull and tortures him while interrogating him by repeatedly exposing the skrull to Terrigen mists. Really love how no bs taking Medusa is portrayed in this. Black Bolt is being hooked up to a machine and it shows that his son is on the same ship as he is. Kind of lame Phoenix knock off skrull, but its always nice seeing more skrull women as main villains.
The final part of the issue shows the Royal family kicking skrull butt and they steal the skrull space ship to find Black Bolt.

So the Ahura with Maximus is a Skrull agent?

Did the issue explain how Maximus is apparently no longer using his mind control on the royal family.
I'm pretty sure that plot point from Silent War will be ignored

It was not complete mind control. He was only able to plant suggestions as I'm sure the Royal family would know he has this power. They just weren't able to fully suppress it.

Did this issue explain that when you're holding someone prisoner who's power is their voice that you should cover their mouth ?
Last issue just showed him bound to the machine with his mask ripped and mouth uncovered ...

Did it say this in the book? or is it just a guess?
Is Maximus working with the Skrulls? I heard that he was

Issue 2 was great, i enjoyed every single panel in it. Definitely worth it.
Medusa is so kick-ass in this issue and i liked the way Crystal's powers were shown on panel.

Did Black Bolt get lobotomized? What the hell happened there? He tried to speak, but couldn't. What the Skrulls did, exactly, isn't clear yet.

Well Gorgon was acting a little strange in leaving Karnak in charge of the battle while he rushed off to find and guard Maximus. He never struck me as feeling bound by honor or loyalty to whoever was king like Gladiator of the Imperial Guard. So one could argue that was Maximus influence at work, but it wasn't outright stated yet.

I must say I might get this mini when it comes out on TPB, especially when it refrences all of the other previous Marvel Universe events that the Inhumans have encountered so far.

Gorgon was honor bound as the leader of the royal guard. Just like Gladiator with the Shi'ar. He may not like Maximus but he'll do his job.
I wish they'd take a page and do an info dump explaining why the Royal family doesn't seem to be mind controlled anymore?
and Ahura seems to not hate his father like he used to.

Another good SI-Tie-in, I like seeing the royal family as a unit working togeather to go save Blackbolt, and I also like Maximus few lines in this issue.
My only knit-pick was with Blackbolt in his son, why was he so happy to see his father, did he forget that he locked him away in exile for a few years?

It seems that certain things from Silent War will be ignored

Are these Inhumans women all this strong? Medusa threw herself off a building and she didn't even have broken bones. Crystal was thrown so hard she smashed the wall. Did Crystal always have the power to animate comrete?

The Skrull broke Medusa's fall and Crystal's powers have always included the ability to manipulate "earth."

Surfing a skrull into the ground isn't going to avoid a broken leg. And Crystal still must be made of stone the way she smashed that wall.
The Inhumans are more durable than humans. Not at levels where you can say they have invulnerablility, but sorta like SPidey and Cap (Rogers). They can fall and crash into walls and still fight.

I was't aware of that. Thanks to Trey and Expletive.
What I really liked about this book, was when Maximus turned that Skrull green and sent him mad. I love seeing villains come across other villains and watching how they treat each other.

my take on the maximus mind control is that perhaps it tires him to use and mantain his power 24/7. Not to mention people visiting with mind control or similar powers could notice something weird.
Once he got to be King he can let go, after all, he can always use it again if things look grim.

I enjoyed the issue but I felt the first issue was slightly better. Maybe because the art felt a bit rushed. It wasn't one of Raney's stronger penciling.
I still had fun reading it.

This was another great issue of this mini-series. It was nice to see Crystal being so kick-ass, you kinda forget how powerful she really is (or at least I do) and tend to just think of her as one of Johnny Storm's love interests.
I also really enjoyed Medusa being so hardcore and not taking any **** from the Skrull prisoner she apprehended. Although I would've liked to have seen even more of the torture in the Terrigen Mists....what we saw looked pretty intense!
Can't wait for issue 3 to come out, this is probably one of the best Secret Invasion tie-ins right now and Tom Raney's artwork is fantastic!

I'm just trying to figure out the 1930s reference. Because you know that they're implying the Skrull was a real person.

The Mad Scientist Skrull says he was on Earth in the 1930s, and he's surprised people didn't pick out his surname as being Skrull.

Don't have the issue in front of me but didn't Medusa wrap her hair around something and swing down ?

i was thinking maybe he meant this guy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josef_Mengele. Of course then you get into the whole what is the life span of a skrull.

Medusa landed feet first on a Skrulls back.
And I was disappointed the War of Kings was only about a cosmic adventure with Black Bolt and Vulcan. I was hoping it was on earth with BB, Namor, Panther, Doom. Ah well. Maybe next time.
