CBR previewed it, and it said it was out today. But now I'm not seeing it on solicits. I haven't been tot he store yet, but WTF, is this thing late again? Perfect example of how lateness can kill momentum on an otherwise fantastic book.

Yup, It came out today, just got finished reading it. It was a pretty good issue. There is a note at the end explaining the recent delays, basically saying that the art takes so long. They are getting a new artist after issue 6, so hopefully the book will start coming out on a more regular basis.

You might be missing it in solicits because it's listed with the mature items.

We're working on the lateness problem and hope to have THE DARKNESS back on track with the next few issues.

If i hadnt dumped the issue with nr.4 i would have now.

Its a joke that its delayed because of a typical image 90s Jim Lee wannabe artist....

Hi Libaax,

Sorry to hear you dropped the title, perhaps some of the other readers on the board can convince you that you are missing out on a very cool issue #5. We have had lateness issues with the new series and we are working hard and diligently to address them.
Michael Broussard, who's a very talented young artist, is pouring a ton of effort and detail into each issue and it's taken longer to get the quality we and he want in the title. Just to publically clarify, Michael is an incredibly dedictated worker, he has literally slept in the Top Cow studio for the last 6 months and worked on the book for 12-16 hours a day. We made a conscious decision to have Michael complete the first 6 issue story arc despite delays because it is such a pivotal and important story line in The Darkness and we didn't want it broken up with fill in art.
The good news is we've made adjustments to the schedule to allow Michael more time to catch up. The pencils for issue #6 are complete and we're wrapping up inks and colors on it now. It will be in stores in October.
Issue #7 and #8 are done including inks and colors and will ship in late October and November respectively. Issue #9 is also being worked on now. By January The Darkness should be completely on track.
