First and foremost, welcome to Make Me a Superhero! This will be a weekly challenge of sorts. In which all posters are welcomed to post a design for the challenge. There really aren’t all that many rules for this thread.

- The picture of your design should be cropped to 550x800.
- Criticisms are welcomed, but in a polite and civil way. We don’t want to put anyone down, but help to improve their work.
- On every other Wednesday I will post the challenge. If you are interested in participating in the challenge of question, post the picture (via photobucket, imageshack, etc.) and a brief description of the characters back story, powers, and how your character ties into the challenge. You have until 11:59 p.m (CST) on Sunday to post your entry.
- That following Monday, I will post a voting thread, in which everyone is free to vote for which character they liked the most.
- The winner of that challenge get’s to choose the next challenge.
- After a competitor has entered their entry, please pm me with your idea for the next challenge, before the voting period ends.
- Once again this is just a friendly design contest. So no eliminations. Furthermore, there is no commitment involved with Make Me a Superhero. So if you feel like playing one week and not the next, which is perfectly fine.

And to end it off… have fun!

Challenge: For your seventh challenge, atoningunifex invites you to help the Green Lantern Corps. A Green Lantern of Sector 1519 has been killed and a new ringbearer has been chosen. Design a new Green Lantern.

Once again, I will be taking charge of this contest until pryde comes back.

[b]Please vote with the poll above![b]

Upon the death of its bearer, the power within the ring sought out its new keeper. Surprisingly, it chose a wild-child hellion called Delirium (her real name is Khrralltarrin -- it means something along the lines of "wicked girl who puts pictures in heads" -- but Delirium is a close enough translation).

Silver-skinned and magenta-haired, Delirium is a felinoid/humanoid with enhanced reflexes and agility. Her ability to project illusions and alternate realities into the minds of others made her a pariah in her own society. Since this talent relies on people looking into her eyes, instead of vice-versa, she was given a choice at a young age; either wear a specially crafted, reflective visor or be imprisoned and exiled. She chose to wear the visor, but her hatred of the inhibition it meant caused her to develop a feral, hostile personality.

G'hlrrki, of H'jiitfe - Sector 1519

-As a H'jiitfeian, G'hlrrki was raised at the upmost sophistication. As a member of the royal, ruling family, she was raised at the upmost splendor. And when she took the throne, she broke tradition, not allowing herself to be the puppet of the royal family's council. With overwhelming willpower and an iron fist, G'hlrrki ruled her planet for many decades. Known to be benevolent to those were her people and her allies and belligerent to those who sought to usurp her title and throne, G'hlrrki was loved by her people. However, the destruction of her planet at the hands of the vicious Sinestro ended it. Fortunately for her, a Green Lantern in the area managed to save her life before sacrificing his own. His ring then found its way to her and she became the new Green Lantern of Sector 1519.

Powers: As a H'jiitfeian, G'hlrrki has many abilities deemed super powers by earthlings. She is able to see in the ultraviolet and infrared spectrums, as well as swim unaided in any fluid. She can also shift vital organs around wounds, making them less likely to be puncture or injured.
-Biologically, H'jiitfeians are what would be deemed aquatic. They live beneath the seas (molecular fluids consisting of silicon, mercury, and tungsten), and do not need to breathe. Their cardiovascular/respiratory system (or what could be compared to them) uses membranes in the digits to extract any usable atoms/molecules and transmute them into the necessary molecules to sustain life. Also, the fins on their backs act as propulsion. By vibrating at the right frequency, it creates enough force to propel the H'jiittfe at high speeds through an fluid (gaseous or liquid). Also, the lack of a second arm is commonplace. One gender has only a right arm, the other only a left. When reproducing, the two copulating fuse, creating a being with two arms. In this stage, the being "gestates" for twelve lunar cycles, after which it has become multiarmed. This being then splits into however many arms have been produced (ie six arms = six offspring). In this process, the two parents cease to exist.

My character doesn't have a traditional name. Her name is a series of musical notes. She comes from a planet that is primarily a very dense forest. Her species has evolved two sets of arms to better move and brace themselves in the jungle. Their language is melodic and harmonic, notes rather than words. The other Lanterns call her Trill.

Trill was chosen to be a Lantern after defending her home forest from alien pirates. In the process she lost an eye. When she received her power ring she decided to set it in her empty eye socket.

Umnto-ujr and his soul twin, Baeshu.

the 2nd child of the Seer-King of basu-Jahkyrsnahar, 3rd in line to the throne, prince of the azure mindscape of Imhan-saphur. his parents, along with his elder brother, were executed by the military supporters of the powerful and corrupt parliament during a bloody coup d'etat. he was taken by a loyal handmaiden and was raised in a humble magic village.

for years he was taught in the ways of Auir-q...a magical way of living. he was recruited into the Green lantern Corps when he helped a couple of Lanterns fight a delusional god raised by the elders of his former kingdom's parliament. with his kingdom destroyed, and his people devoured - he saw the Green lantern Corps as an oppotunity to prevent such evil from ever rising again...

posesses telepathy and wields magic.

and yes, Baeshu can also harness the ring's abilities, even without physically touching it, since they're practically 2 halves of the same whole. (think Golden Compass in a slightly diff way)

Fai-Toh was born on the planet of K'shak to a race known throughout the galaxy as the Faceless.
The sole inhabitants of the planet telepathically acted as a hive mind, efficiently carrying out the daily tasks required of them
to sustain life. Billions of identical creatures roamed the planet blindly doing as their collective brain told them. However,
there was some flux in the grand creation and one child of K'shaki didn't fit with the rest of her world. Fai-Toh realized that
along with her natural ability to share thoughts with those around her, she also had something no one else seemed to have.
Doubt. At an early age, Fai began to doubt the way things went. Was this really the right way to go about doing things?
The Corps sought her out for this exact reason and granted her the power of the ring. Now she not only has to worry about
protecting her sector, but also has to try to get along in life without the guidance or support of billions.

the black stuff is skin which you probably couldn't tell....but she has no face...she's telepathic....

This is Lel of the planet T'rnk. He is known throughout the sector as a sage of wisdom. For years, he studied martial arts, zen techniques, and various other knowledge areas to learn all he could about the body and the life it leads. He is a firm believer that a being cannot be greater than the sum of their parts, and views one's willpower as that sum. It is for this reason the Green Lantern ring has sought him out as the newest guardian of the sector. It is also the basis for his costume, which shows the parts and the sum of willpower.

He may be opposed to violence, but knows how to defend himself or stop an attacker with or without his ring.

I thought I should add, since I had to resize the image a little, that he wears his ring on his trunk.

Present at the scene when Vishbharata, Green Lantern of the Corps. Sector 1519, was killed in heroic action, Rajeshwari Sddhrh did her best to defend her moon's colonies from the unprovoked attacks of their neighboring galaxy. Her people were inherently flamboyant, their world and culture a blur of colors and narcotics, and at the center of their civilization was the trifecta of artisans, craftsmen, and alchemists.

A child of all three, Rajeshwari wielded the knowledge to thwart the attacks by transmuting the enemies and their weapons to nothing more than bicameral particles or deluvian waves. Immediately, the homeless ring found attraction to her courage and, as liberal as Sector 1519 may have been, it still needed a protector.

HEROICS and JUSTICE followed as Rajeshwari swam through her Sector's deep, black depths. Her five eyes give her a worldly, if not universally scope of vision, three of which can be attuned to 'moralscope', which highlights moral and social injustice within 1519.

Although provided with only one, incredibly powerful ring, Rajeshwari has harnessed her people's alchemy to transmute other ceremonal rings to wield the power of the Green Lantern as well, turning her into a super mega force of awesome Green Lantern.

INSPIRATION: When I thought "alien", I could have gone a million different ways but classical, Indian (Hinduism in particular) art and storytelling really came into my mind and I thought it would be cool to play with that imagery. Green Lantern's always have the craziest designs, too, but it's all really cookie cutter or paper doll in that, it's a combination of the green and white and black with the form fitting suit with gloves and boots. I totally get that it's a uniform, but I think they should have a collective look, but seeing as each Lantern is protecting her own sector it should totally reflect that very sector's civilizations.

Quick Bio:
Named Niel Chapman by his creators , he was 'born' on september 7th 2020 . The last of his kind from the planet Eek'zibaar and fused with DNA from the Lantern rings he is able to recreate any lost limb with solid energy (hence left arm) , possessing all powers of a normal green lantern corps there are great expectations for Neil.

as gorgeous, as amazing, and as totally feasible as my concept may be (HAHAHA!!!)...i'm voting for Kid Icarus.

i really like the look. although i think it would be better if the white band on her abdomen goes under the green V top.

I thought all the submissions were cool and fun, but there were two designs that really stood out this round.

Joe Acro's Lel was really fun and really well designed. I love elephants! This character could support his own series.

Affinity's Rajeshwari was just too amazingly fabulous for words. Four arms, five eyes and eighteen million levels of wonderfulness. I love the Indian influence and the distinct art style and the sense of fun.

I went with Finny's in the end. I just loved the level of glee he brought to the competition.

I was torn between most of them but I voted for AnkaleRa's because I like the idea of a queen stepping up to defend the galaxy AND keep peace on her own world.

Thanks herogirl!

And I'll have to say, a lot of good entries this time around! It was nice to get so many people to join in! But only one person can get my vote, and that's gotta be Finny! Rajeshwari is absolutely spectacular!

If anyone is having a hard time deciding on a next challenge I have one in mind. How about designing a costume for Jean Grey when she makes her big comeback?
