Bendis did a 4 issue stint on DD with #16-19, which was unrelated to his larger plan on his real run, which started with DD #26, and was comprised of #26-50, and 56-81.
Also, the first Bendis DD omnibus just recently hit, so you might wanna check it out if you really like his work on the book (and it is great), and if you like large, weapon-like books.

Bendis's run is #26-50 and 56-81. He also did #16-19, but that's not really connected to the rest of his work with the character.

yeah thats why i was asking because i got confused as far as what wikipedia was telling me on his run. what happened in 51-55. and when you say first omnibus do you mean it only collects half that run because i think i saw this on amazon and it was like almost 100.
i got my captain america brubaker omnibus on there for 40 bucks so i thought this was a really odd thing. now im too interested. brubaker has been on daredevil since 82 im assuming?

was 16-19 the echo arch or was that later in on in his main story?

#16-19 had Mack art, but it wasn't an Echo storyline. It was an odd little piece about a supervillain's autistic son. It gets included in Bendis's run because he wrote it, but it's really a standalone thing.
#51-55 was the fill-in Echo storyline written and drawn by David Mack. And, yeah, Brubaker has been the writer since #82.

I love Bendis' Daredevil run, but Frank Miller set the standard. If you like Bendis on it, check out the Miller run. The issues that he wrote and drew were 168-191. He did art on 158-167 (actually, one of those issues was a fill-in).

I loved Bendis's DD. It's probably the greatst run I've ever read on a major publisher's character.

yeah his first writing for Daredevil was a small arc that focused more on Ben Urich than DD. It was drawn by David Mack. Those were issues
16-19. Then Bob Gale did a 6 issue run 20-25 then Bendis/Maleev took over on 26. The took a small break at 51-55 and then came back at 56 and ran it to 81. The filler story from 51-55 really has no DD in it but is a story about Echo but it fits well into the chronology of the book as when Bendis jumps back on it explains, in a round about way, why we got an Echo story. Just get every DD issue of Vol 2. There is not a bad one in the series.
Kevin Smith's arc is excellent, Mack's stories are decent, even Bob "Back to the Future" Gale's arc is entertaining. Make no mistake though, DD vol 2 is the Bendis/Maleev and Brubaker/Lark show.
It is not a stretch to say that DD is Marvel's most consistent book every month in terms of quality and well it is definitely one of their 3 best books period. Captain America and Thor are the other 2 although Invincible Iron Man, Nova, Guardians of the Galaxy and Ghost Rider are moving up fast as well.

I just ate the DD Omnibus in about two days and I'm horribly depressed that no news on volume 2 has been released. Simply phenominal.

Daredevil is excellent! Absolutely amazing the things Miller did, Bendis did and Bruba is doing.
I was starting a thread on DD#111, the end of Cruel and Unusual arc, but i only read in the weekend. Great story. Brubaker is up to the challenge of Bendis and Miller. Absolutely great. Next month i'll ship the Bendis Omnibus.

Yeah Cruel &Unusual is an excellent story. It is no "Devil Lives on Cell Block D" but it was excellent nonetheless. It was great to see Matt out and about again working a case and I loved how, in Matt's mind, he was trying to come to terms with not saving Milla by trying to save Big Ben AND we got more Dakota North. I know she is getting a mini but SHE needs her own book as that character would be a gold mine of incredible stories. Did I also sense a bit of sexual tension between Matt and Dakota?
