even though im not really into Next gen games, i would like to see Bubsy make a comeback, i admit that Bubsy 3D killed his reputation but he can still maek one heck of a comeback if done right.

Please. Bubsy was a sub-par platformer in a market already flush with similar garbage. He was a characterless blob of pixels imbued with a dimwitted mid-90s programmer's view of "attitude". The only reason anyone even remembers the character is because Bubsy 3D is one of the worst games ever made.

We have this conversation from time to time. Bubsy was a pretty good ripoff of Sonic the Hedgehog. Since no one can seem to make good Sonic games anymore, we might as well give Bubsy a shot at it.
Also, the obvious but necessary answer: Kid Icarus.

I thought the Bubsy games were okay. As a character, he was pretty useless though. There were really a ton of those crappy platformers, none of which I really need to see reinvented in this gen (although Sparkster from Rocket Knight Adventure killed).
An updated Pitfall Harry could be strong. I wouldn't scoff at Earthworm Jim, Captain Commando or Strider either.

SPARKSTER!!!
That's who I forgot! However, in order for him to still be relevant, the game would probably have to be a modern day Nights into Dreams (you know, besides the one on the Wii. I'm talking about it's importance and impact on the Sega Saturn).

Twinbee. Another one I forgot...
And, characters, not entire games...
But a crossover with Weaponlord and Soul Calibur would be AWESOME!!!
But... For one, they'd need to find the actual developers of Weaponlord (which would be pretty hard). Also, that game would be M... Namco probably wouldn't want that...
Then again, I'd love to see how the SC universe handles the Warrior's Moon...

I guess it depends on what you mean by "developers". The company that developed it, Visual Concepts, is still around but currently owned by Take-Two Interactive.
I assume Visual Concepts owns any rights to Weaponlord, so a crossover seems unlikely.
A Weaponlord/GTA crossover could be possible though!

True, but the publishers (is that the right word for it?) are Namco, which is why it was brought up, which causes even more problems.
Weaponlord is in a similar position as Blaire Dame and that other guy from Street Fighter EX.

When you have truly conquered the battlefield, a red moon, grabbed by a claw, appears behind a laughing demon, sleeping among the bones of dead warriors.

Alot of games Id love to see redone and in the same token I dont want them redone because Im afraid it will turn into a bionic commando situation where they try and make it realistic and just take away what made the original so good. Like turning him into a convict that gets paroled if he helps, slapping a robotic arm on him and make him swinging around the focus of the game? Sounds awful to me. I dont even want to talk about splatterhouse after seeing the screenshots of the remake.
But sadly most of the games Id like to see redone could never been done right since they were a product of their time, the game industry was different and developers were different then, things change but atleast I have the classics to still play.
Mega man.
And none of the mega man x, or mega man legends, or mega man x4, or mega man maverick hunter bullcrap. Just a straight action game done with newer technology, if done right it could be alot of good shooting and platforming fun.
http://scottthong.files.wordpress.com/2007/01/megamanbox.jpg
Strider.
Im thinking something like a action rpg for this but still retain the story and feel the original had and not just some generic sterile story with some fancy graphics and like a flowing scarf. Personally I was more partial to the nes version vs the arcade or other version, it felt more like a solid game and had a interesting story and wasnt just run left to right and climb and fight and thats it. You had to backtrack for items and such, like a 60/40 combo of action and adventure.
http://www.theoldcomputer.com/Libarary's/Pictures/NESGameCovers/Strider.jpg
Kid icarus.
Another good action/adventure/platform game that could be done well. The problem is them not turning it into another god of war clone or something. What made the original so cool was oddball additions that were funny but actually fit in well like credit cards, egg plant wizards and such along with loose mythology throw in. It was good because it was challeging yet fun, but it being lighthearted in its strangeness was alot of its charm.
http://www.theoldcomputer.com/Libarary's/Pictures/NESGameCovers/Kid%20Icarus.jpg
Earthworm jim
If its done right with a good color pallete, good comedy and varied areas to play in it could be interesting and alot of fun.

And.....
Bayou billy.
Could be a fun just straight out beat em up games. Go through swamps, bars, new orelans. He was kind of cool because there wasnt anyone else like him really in that setting and he didnt have super powers or anything, just beat s*** up to save his girl.
http://www.coverbrowser.com/image/nes-games/28-1.jpg
Kuros (from wizards and warriors).
Those were cool games. Adventures through completely different areas, fight monsters, collect items, get weapons and really had a sense of being all alone and trying to defeat a evil fella.
http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/587775_47019.jpg
Blaster master.
This was awesome. Save your frog was the story hehe. But you got to drive a tank that you got upgrades for for weapons or new items to make it get to new areas, get out of the tank and fight bosses for the tank upgrades. It was like metroid only you had driving, action and adventure in a game. Was great fun.
http://www.racketboy.com/retro/blastermaster.jpg
Battletoads.
This could actually be a good game for today. Could do 2 or 3 players like in the original. If they only kept in the fun hardcore fighting element and its bit of light hearted humor in it and basic storyline instead of trying to explain to much or give it more than it needs. It was fun like bad dudes or double dragon because it was simple. Only thing I didnt like was the fact it comes from the factory preset on "ball buster" difficulty.

No love for the puzzle games? It's a crime that nobody has made a new Adventures of Lolo game since the NES. Sure, they tried to sneek him into the Kirby cartoon, but that just a shame.
Also, Bubsy needs to stay dead. No reason to dig him up just to bury him again. The only reason I remember him at all is because the Cartridge forBubsy 2 on the Genesis is a different shape from all my other Genesis cartridges. Rocket Knight Adventures is a definite must revive though.
