I just finished Double Agent on the 360 and was pretty disappointed overall with the game. I had fun here and there, but I think this series has lost a lot of it's luster.
The first game was great because it was something new. I felt like the second game was a flop and three was just decent.
I'm hoping Ubi-Soft packs it in with the fifth game. I'm tired of the same gadgets and techniques over and over again.
Anybody else?

Well Conviction has been delayed over a year. I hear that they had to scrap everything they had done and start from scratch. It was supposed to come out last fall, then bumped to come out the same time as MGS4 and now it has disappeared and not been mentioned at any of the conventions this summer. Not a good sign at all.

The first one was got me into stealth games.

The second one was okay. I didn't like being outside sneaking around. MGS does it alot better.

The thrid one is Splinter Cell at it's best. The true definition of a stealth game.

Double Agent had the best story and of course looks the best but it was such a drastic change from the past three games. I didn't like how they took a away the "invisible meter" I had in Chaos Theory and that they simplifyed everything.

One thing I did like besides the story was how tense everything felt and how you had to balance the trust between the NSA and JBA. Never got into the multiplayer though.

Conviction looked good but it wasn't Splinter Cell anymore. I wouldn't have recognized it if it were for the title and Sam's voice.

Plus, they were going with the Assassin's Creed "stealth" which meant that you "hide" by fitting in with your surroundings.

The last time I saw the game was at E3' 06. I gave up on it when I heard the rumor that they were starting over from scratch.

Whatever, Ubisoft seems more interested in bringing back the Prince of Persia, continuing the Assassin's Creed trilogy, and making another Rayman Ravving Rabbits for the Wii Fit.

But, I got a PS3, MGS 1, 2, 3, and 4 and I'm having a blast.
