Too many to mention, but you can hardly go wrong with John Ford, Akira Kurosawa, and Federico Fellini.

This is not a challenge, just a question; there is no right/wrong answer:
Several of you have listed GALAXY QUEST. I've seen the film, had a great time, thought it was really well made, but once having seen it, I have no great pressing desire to see it again.
What elements of GALAXY QUEST resonate so strongly with you?
Again, this is just for informational purposes, not a challenge.

Well speaking for myself I just find it fun to watch. And I suppose it is a testament of how good a parody it is of Star Trek that makes it as re-watchable as the show it was poking loving fun of remains.

Amazing piece of work that, to me, seems more and more straightforward with each new viewing.

Of all of Suspense genre films --- Rear Window
Of all Science Fiction movies --- The Empire Strikes Back
Of all Musicals --- Singin' in the Rain
Of all War films --- The Great Escape
Of all Westerns --- The Searchers
Of all Action films --- Raiders of the Lost Ark
Of all Comedies --- Zelig (probably Woody Allen's most under-rated film)

Totally. Once you get over the shock of the weirdness, it's really just about a man's journey from seeking power to seeking redemption to obtaining enlightenment.

A good example is when you see Jodorowsky and the woman and suddenly she's screaming in a body of water and then you're back again to the couple. Originally, I had no fucking idea what to think of that. Second time around I noticed her clothes were different after the quick water shot, indicating a lapse in time. The film deals with time in an exciting but sometimes confusing fashion.

I really, really hope that Jodorowsky makes and finishes a movie again. AbelCain/Sons of El Topo has been languishing for years, but at least King Shot sounds like it might go forward and sounds rad based on what little I've read about it ("a violent metaphysical spaghetti gangster pic").
Cast includes:
Nick Nolte
Asia Argento
Marilyn Manson
Udo Kier

There are quite a few movies I can watch over & over, but my all time favorite is Trainspotting. I've probably watched it close to a hundred times and never get sick of it. It's one of those films you love to memorize the dialogue and quote to friends or hell even strangers. Great great movie!!
