For me, it's Teen Titans and Titans. Good LORD, they're awful.... but I just can't stay away. Titans, I expect to hate 'cause it's Winick, but TT has me screaming 'FUCK YOU, McKEEVER!' just about every other issue.... but I just can't stop 'cause I adore the Titans franchise. *sigh* I sooo wish Amy Wolfram could get her hands on that title.
Do you have any like that?

I think thats the plan.. 1 issue of GOLD (like last months issue) and then HORROR (this weeks) then the next issu will be GOLD again..
For me its GA/BC.. only I must say I have stopped paying attention to the series.. I still read it.. but.. mostly i look at the perdy pictures.. I would have dropped it if Judd was continuing thou.
Also Catwoman.... its.. boring.. but i still read it

I used to be this way about GL or Fantastic Four.
Not anymore. Now I'm able to drop titles whenever they bore me. I'm not sure what changed. (Though I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the almighty dollar.)

Well for me for the longest time it was the Batman books and the Fantastic Four. And side bar stuff like Doom Patrol, Challengers of the Unknown, Master of Kung Fu and oh yeah....the Teen Titans.
However nowadays there is just so much being done wrong and I have so little money to spare that I am able to pass them up now. However I am MUCH more apt to grab a one off or something I know is good such as the Teeny Titans. ;)
Oh and this gives me a chance to ask a question. When I first saw your screen name I made the assumption that you were a Bat fan. That was obviously a mistake based on some posts I have read of yours.
So...what is the origin of Pink Bat Maxine?

Actually, I just love the animal. ^,~ I created a cartoon character of a bat, and I wanted to push against the stereotype of bats as dark, scary creatures. So I decided to make her pink and cute and adorable instead.

Green Arrow & Black Canary - It's bad, but it's like silver age "WTF? LOL!" bad. It's just so cheesey and ridiculous that I can't help laughing. I buy it just because it's guaranteed to make me smile.
Batman R.I.P. - Morrison's best work this is not. Batman's best story this certainly is not. I SHOULD have dropped the title back when #2 came out and my brain told me "put that crap down!" but I didn't, now it's to close to the end for me to stop reading even though I'm disappointed more and more with each consecutive issue. I've resolved to drop Batman off my pull list once R.I.P. ends but until it does I simply can't stop reading. I have to know how this rancid garbage will end itself.
And before anyone tries to start a discussion about this, I'm not interested in debating whether this story is good or not, so don't waste your time or mine.
Blood Rayne - It's not great writing, but it's the only method for me to get my Blood Rayne fix since it doesn't look like a new game will come out anytime soon.

I don't think it sucks, but Ms. Marvel is probably the book I continue reading that feels the least essential. I love the character but she often seems like a supporting character in her own title.

That I can understand.
I can also understand sticking with a title for one or two issues to see if it picks up.
I don't understand reading titles I don't like.

Yeah, I gave up titles that sucked a few years back.
It was easy. I simply looked at my weekly haul and figured out which books took me more than a few days to read. The ones I wanted to read right away, stayed. The ones I didn't get excited about reading, went.

That's a really good idea. I noticed there were a few books I continued to pick up because of the name on the cover that would just sit in my "to read" pile for weeks. Cut the fat, folks. It's the only way to send publishers the right message.
Not to say I'm not guilty of course. I've been buying all of the new HULK issues, but that mostly has to do with how much I love Ed McGuiness.

I love Moritat, the little dickens. He knows I do. But dizzam... I keep buying this book every month and I have no idea why. I haven't enjoyed it since the 3rd or 4th issue. What is wrong with me?
I love his art a lot. I'm hoping he'll go on to do something where I like the writing. I guess I figure if I do my bit to support him, I'm doing the right thing. I dunno. Perhaps it's a better thing to not gobble the turds of the people who we admire.

I buy this too, and it doesn't suck, I agree... it is just horribly pedestrian much of the time.

New Avengers / Mighty Avengers.

My comic would be "New Warriors". I admit I read em faithfully in the 90's. I also admit I loved that 1st series.
I read the mini leading up to Civil War.
And now I buy and read the new ongoing, even though it has pretty much zilch to do with any previous incarnation, even though I can't tell which character is which, and whose codename belongs to who's real name.
All in all it's a pretty lame book, although the last couple of issues have become bearable to read and occasionaly enjoyable.

I wouldn't say they aren't good, but I just wasn't really concerned with continuing to read them.

*facepalm* Hated the game, but I can't stop reading this either. Mainly because of the art, if you get my drift. XD
Also, anything by Marcia Chen. I think her writing is rubbish, but she always works with Joe Benitez, so... art. Yuh.

I wholeheartedly agree.
As I said elsewhere: I did something with this comic book I've only done with one other book: I ripped it in half and tossed it in the trash. THAT'S where this issue belongs. It's pure and total garbage.
It's not that I'm a huge fan of Wendy and Marvin, but there are far better ways to deal with the characters other than making them dog food..... It was nothing less than gratuitous violence and death.
I'm done with this book.
Unfortunately, I have 2 more issues I must buy because of paying for them in advance. The only "good thing" there is that it's costing me 40% less than if I got them at a store.
McKeever is now up there (or is that down there?) with Judd Winick as far as hack writers are concerned. What happened to the guy who wrote Gravity and Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane?

It almost seems like he got the indoctrination speech.
What indoctrination speech, you ask?
The one which logically HAS to exist to introduce writers to the "New DC" (not so new anymore), where arms get ripped off in battle scenes, people get decapitated and/or eviscerated and it's all done in the name of making the books "gritty" and "edgy".

About a year and a half ago I looked at my pull list and thought, "OK, which of these am I not really, really enjoying?" I dropped about half of what I was buying and haven't missed any of them.
I think I'm about to do another round of cuts.

The "Final Crisis", in itself isn't all that bad,BUT the whole "Countdown,52 " and so on were such trainwrecks that eventhough I've dropped all my comics. I still am getting "Final Crisis" just to see how it all ends....if it does that is.

Damn, why didn't I think of that?
McKeever reminds me of one of those nerds who try to get more popular by hating on someone the 'cool kids' hate on. There was a tinge of 'Don't say I suck! Look, I'm killing these characters you hate!" The deaths were pointless except for some cheap gratification. The issue was awful. McKeever is SUCH a let down on Titans.

I started reading Teen Titans because of McKeever. I had absolutely no familiarity with the title. It just didn't really appeal to me. To me, it read a lot like he was trying to hard to prove that he could do more than just write all ages stuff. I waited around longer than I was enjoying it, hoping that some of the charm from his Marvel stuff would show through, but I had to give up eventually. Comics are too expensive to keep reading in vain hope.
That said, as much as I find this sort of stuff a huge turn off now, I probably would have ate it up as a teenager, which is presumably the target audience for a book called Teen Titans.

Only time I've ever kept with something that bad was Chuck Austen's run on X-Men. I enjoyed the start of it - even defended him online a bunch, which was harrd work - but despite the plummeting quality I hung around out of curiosity. I think I just wanted to see where he was going with Bobby's powers. And I adored his Juggernaut. But yeah, the rest was pretty much shite.

My post on the McKeever stuff:

And bear in mind - I'm sticking around with Judd Winick's travesty of a Titans title for another few issues if only because I like the characters, but I suspect I'm going to be dropping it any time now. I expect more from my favorite team than slasher movies and Friends with superheroes.

Cableis the only thing that comes close for me. I mean, yeah, I know I could be spending my money on better things, but the concept is just such classic sci-fi and it reads like a big ol' R-Rated 80's Stallone movie from cover to cover.

I continue to buy them though because I am enjoying Secret Invasion and they are filling in back story. They just don't feel like they should have Avengers on the masthead at the moment.

His art was even worse on Hawkgirl. I mean, "both eyes occasionally drawn on the same side of the face, female bodies drawn like fireplugs, and every male face with the same jawline" level of bad.
