New Beetle.. sorry.. Blue Beetle as in Jaime..
yes yes a million others deserve a movie.. but can you think of anyone else who would fit better in a PG13 movie intended for a MASSIVE audience?

Jaime is a new character and the Blue Beetle name is remarkably small. I don't think BB could be expected to carry his own movies. It would be a better idea to develop the BB name first and now that they can use BB in other mediums (some legal issues kept Blue Beetle out of Justice League Unlimited but now they are free to use BB in whatever they want as seen by Jaime being in the upcoming Brave & The Bold), it is certainly possible.
I imagine they would want to develop Green Lantern, Flash, Wonder Woman, even Aquaman, before they get anywhere near Blue Beetle.

ohh please.. that old too small argument is getting a bit .. old
If Hancock can gross $225 Domestic (so far) BB can top that with a movie made for a wider audience

Hancock had the biggest BO draw currently working.

The point is that Hancock is a Will Smith movie. It was marketed as such. So unless you can get a star of Will Smith's caliber (in a popularity-sense) to play Blue Beetle, it won't work.

Neither will a Green Lantern movie.. or a Flash movie .. or a (Lats face it) Wonder Woman movie..
YEs they might be a bit more known among the general public.. but they are not Superman and batman.. they are not Spider-Man..

And whose to say they couldn't? Find the hottest hispanic star going and hitch it to his wagon.
And what of Elektra, Constantine, V For Vendetta, Judge Dredd, Steel, Blade, Ghost Rider, and et al?
Yes some of those didn't do incredibly well, others like Blade had a series of films. But the bottom line is whats to stop Hwood from doing it?
Now guaranteeing it's success? That's another matter entirely. Heck Iron Man was no guarantee. Far from it. For that matter who knew that The Dark Knight would do the monster biz it did?
And you don't have to sell it on the name of the character. You sell the story and the character as someone the audience doesn't know. Just like they sold it to the comics fans...cause ya know other than the name he has nothing to do with Ted Kord.
Besides you're talking to someone who thinks that a Blue Beetle and Booster Gold movie would have been great starring Matthew Perry and Jay Mohr.

I always thought that Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson would fit the parts... with other Frat Pack people filling other rolles.. like Vince Vaughn as Maxwell Lord :p

I think Blue Beetle can work for a Ben Ten or S[y Kids-style demographic of kids who are new to the property.
However, the first real guage of this will be how well Jaime and his toys are received in the new Batman cartoon. If he's a breakout hit there, it may be time to give him broader media exposure.

Green Lantern Corps.
Could work as a TV series.. but not as a movie..
Too many characters for 2-3 hours

Which is why you make it really long and focus on only a few of the characters.
Like Hal co-starring Kyle. Or something like that.
(I didn't say it would be a successful movie, only that I'd like to see it.)
