Apologies if this isn't the right area to post this, but it is sort of tenuously linked with the whole Final Crisis/ Multi-verse subject.
New Genesis/ Apokolips are purported to exist in the Fourth World, which is seperate to the Earth-0 set of dimensions and is apparently only accessible by boom-tube.
But, is this Fourth World area purely 'linked' to the Earth-0 Universe?
I.e. Is there a Fourth World for each of the 52 Universes (as each Universe has it's own 5th Dimenson), or is it a nexus area of some sort linking it to every Universe in the Multi-verse?
With that in mind, is Darkseid unique to the Earth-0 reality?
Also, is the Pre-Crisis version of the Fourth World the same as the current version?

I was always under the impression that the Fourth World is the entire universe, with the Fifth World set around Earth, as the Fourth World was set around New Genesis and Apokolips, two sister planets that are very far away, with boom tubes used to cover the distance in a short span of time (warp from Star Trek, FTL from BSG, etc.)
I could be wrong.

DC has said that the New Gods characters are only in one universe and that's New Earth. Though this raises questions about their involvement in "Kingdom Come" which featured New Gods characters. It's possible that their appearence on Earth-22 was from a point in time in the future, since that is when the story takes place.

I doubt that there's only one Fourth World. We've seen the New Gods in Elseworlds titles, including items like Kingdom Come that we know are part of the multiverse, and seen Earth-26's versions of the characters, the New Dogs, in Captain Carrot.

Seems like yet another potential continuity issue...

The Guardians were supposedly unique because Krona's fun and games generated the multiverse and the Monitor/Antimonitor. However, they have been popping up in Elsewhere's and other tales.
Just continuity out of control again.

According to Superman Beyond that is no longer the case, lol
I don't know why DC (and to an extent Marvel) don't just stop pretending they have continuity and do exactly whatever they feel like... Of course, some of the writers have already started doing just that!

Well part of the problem people mix up The Multiverse (that which existed b4 CoIE) and The 52 multiverse.
The Guardians were unique to E1's universe and yes, now their are at least other versions of them if you take the Elseworld stories as part of the 52.
I was just thinking, I take it there is no Stan Lee Earth for his version of the DC heroes?

Well, based on Grant Morrison's description of what the New Gods really are, it appears that their involvement in any Elseworld Story that is an Alternate Universe is just an interpretation of their Godliness as it manifests itself throughout the Multiverse.
Kinda like how Waid's Threeboot Legion Phantom Girl is kinda doing the same things at the same time both on Bgtzl and Earth, but on a grander scale.

Morrison better read this posts and come up with stuff like "the invisibles killed all the other universes' guardians" or something.
he'd get away with it cause you know "you have to get how Morrison writes and then explain it to God so he can understand".

Well, under the old infinite universes (pre-COIE), EVERY story or story-arc could be set in an alternate or parallel universe. And that matches pretty well with what "real world" physicists tell us about the Multiple Worlds hypothesis. As long as the writers are clear about that fact, it shouldn't be a problem.

As far as I know, not all of the 52 have been described. The "SLverse" could be one of the undescribed.
