I'm thinking on Labor Day to go to the Atlanta Aquarium before heading home after DragonCon. Scouting the FAQ I found the following:
Is there a security check before you get into the Aquarium?
Yes. There are no guns, knives, matches, lighters, fishing poles, outside food, beverage or gum allowed inside the Aquarium.
Gotta admit, that would be pretty ballsy bringing a fishing pole to an aquarium.
LOL!

hey Jim, we are very likely going to the Aquarium on Monday as well.
if you've never been, it really is a fantastic aquarium (tho I wouldn't bother with the film. . it's extra, and eats up some of your time).
I *would* recommend pre-buying your ticket online if you are sure you're going, as they limit how many folks they let in each hour.
we're not 100% certain we're going this year, so we haven't pre-bought (if it's too busy, we'll just go to World of Coca-Cola next door :)).

I tried smuggling Captain Ahab into Sydney Aquarium once.
...'Fuckin' noisy bastard wouldn't shut up about some whale, so we got sprung.

Thanks for the info, Bert, it's much appreciated. Scanning through an author's forum I noticed some members there saying rain is expected and they suggested bringing umbrellas. I hope that doesn't 'rain on the parade' Saturday morning!
If Cocoa Cola is just next door I'm okay with either one so that's more good info again from you Bert. Thank you!

I wonder how many people a year try to get in with fishing pole.
i'm certain some did it the first few years it was open.
