Wouldn't a question series with the original question be great for vertigo.

Not really. I find most of Vertigo's DCU-character books to be pretty boring.

I mean, even Madame Xanadu was kind of dull, and that had Matt Wagner and some gorgeous art going for it.

I'd much rather they stick to original, creator-owned work. Or if they're going DCU-based, at least make it a radical reinvention, a la Sandman, Shade, or Losers.

When you say original, do you mean the Ditko version or the O'Neil and Cowan version? Funny, since the 80s version was pretty much a Vertigo book before Vertigo. It was a crime comic for mature readers.

I'd like to see someone like Grant Morrison or Peter Milligan do a story featuring The Question and go crazy playing off the highly contrasting philosophies that Steve Ditko and Denny O'Neill brought to the character. It would probably be like every other issue of The Question where it sells about a dozen copies, but I would read it and I think THAT would be an interesting story.

I rather asked it because I could really see either Ditko or O'Neil's Question used in a matur readers Vertigo book. As much as I love O'Neil's, he really did alter the character to suit himself.

Meanwhile, how would you redo Ditko's character. You don't want to make him too extreme like Rorschach or Diko's even more objectivist Mr A. Yet I could see someone turning up some of the philosophy Ditko interestingly had.

Hell, as much as I love Rucka and am rather enjoying Renee taking up the mask, I really really miss Vic. I don't know the politics and personal choices that lead to it, but I wish both he and Renee stayed together as partners and not a sucessor.

And then we have the third Question. The JLU one which was a bit of Ditko's mixed in with a general conspiracy theorist. Not too big of a fan, but at least Vic and Helena ended up together in that universe. I keep wondering what could have happened had Rucka and Simone ended up working on that.

Oh and then there's that Metropoilis shaman Question which had nice art but really wasn't any Question. Let's forget that.

Heh. You know, just a wee bit of a fan. Only pained my room a certain light shade of blue. Heh.
