Ah, Man. I was hoping that we would actually be seeing more of Sharon Ventura/ She Thing. Oh, well.

Looks like the timing is off on the comic since Proton is still there in the first page run down. Seems to have fallen behind the SI timeline, but is catching up.

I guess I was right from the earlier previews that She-Thing was a Skrull. Hopefully the real one is out there somewhere.

The timing is definitely a bit off, because last issue just got to the failure of Stark-tech and the Times Square battle. But considering so many books are covering a few hours of time, they haven't been doing too badly. Honestly, his appearance on the recap page may be just so people can figure out who the dude was who died in SI #4...

Harder to ID I'll grant, but more powerful? Ms. Marvel just tore through a whole bunch in New York.

She-thing was cool to see back in action. too bad she was a Skrull.

Ms. Marvel is also a hell of a lot more powerful then the Skrull Kill Krew. it only makes sense that she would have an easier time taking out these new skrulls. Plus, she had to use her binary (i believe) type powers to take out a lot of them, which takes a lot out of her. Otherwise, she relied on gimmicky type maneuvers to take out the skrulls (killed the Giant Man srull with an electric lamp post, made Skrull Nitro explode killing a lot of his comrades, etc.)

This preview looks cool. I am not sure where the timing issue is? Last issue stark tech failed, this issue picks up immediatley after it. Granted the Initiative is not caught up to the general Secret Invasion series yet, but I don't think it is supposed to be. Perhaps Marvel would have been more effective if they placed these types of issues prior to Secret Invasion #1.

I think by the pure fact that their powers are real and not technological mimicry makes a big difference. Agreed, howver, that they are not necessarily hard to kill. Just look at all the Savage Land Skrulls that got wiped out by a few Black Widow bullets, Shana blow-darts and T-Rex feet.

Wish Triathlon would go back to his old costume and codename. The 3-D Man name and outfit just don't do it for me.

Is it wrong for me to be in love with a Nazi mad scientist? A geek kind of love, mind you.

Not if you don't mind Baron Von Blitzschlag's budding bromance with War Machine.

The ones at the crash shite were not superskrulls, they were just skrulls. If a superskrull with merely Phoenix's powerset had landed the avengers would of been wiped out.

That is the 2nd best costume of all time (behind Stingray's downward pointing arrow of course). How can you NOT love that?!?

Well they were definitely of the hard-to-detect variety...but point taken.

Wouldn't they be considered super skrulls simply because they had the powers of the people they were impersonating? They were flying without wings, calling down lightning and manifesting phoenix effects, normal skrulls can't do that.

I doubt that many of these new superskrulls are as powerful as the superhumans they are copying, otherwise I think Ms. Marvel would have had more difficulty killing as many as she did.

at least it sounds like his story will be the other main focus of the issue. perhaps Varanke has to take a leak and eric gets some up-skirt pics, then black mails her into leaving earth...

Looks like Komodo shows up in this issue but no Hardball or Cloud 9 yet.

They'll show Proton dying again and some more Crusader bits.

Lol. I want some Ant-Man too. I love this book, and the intro of the Skrull Kill Krew only makes me excited for it even more. This book is really great in that it gets me interested in characters I previously could care less about.

And what is the deal with She-Thing? The character seems lame as all hell but is hotly anticipated for some reason? Does She-Thing vomit pure agave tequila or something cool like that?

Beats me. I much preferred her as Ms. Marvel/Sharon Ventura myself. Never really cared for the She-Thing mode.

That makes a lot of sense. He is in the bathroom. What a way to spend the invasion of earth. He goes into to the bathroom and eight months later our time or two hours later event time he comes out and missed the whole invasion. Oh well, hey, where's that well established character Proton?

That is Riot of the Skrull Kill Krew. She's a human who ate meat made from cows that were really Skrulls...aw forget it...you can wiki it here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skrull_Kill_Krew).

i wish! instead she's just a somehow uglier less-charming version of the Thing. i kind of miss her Ms.Marvel look.

hey, don't knock it! i bet Geldoff wishs he had hit the showers instead of going out to fight skrulls.

i can't wait for Eric to single-handedly defeat Veranke. are skrulls susceptible to STDs?

Sharon Ventura should get her own book.

Not as She-Thing, 'cuz she sucks like that, but as her own character for once.

Eric and Wanda could both used as the Skulls ace in the hole. With Skullowjacket making the suit and giving Wanda the "improved" growing formula; either one of them could be a walking bomb.

I think you mean Janet Van Dyne...but a valid point on both. I think Marvel is looking to go with Giant-Woman in the future (like the Adventures version) for Janet, as her Wasp persona is not that intimidating.

Yeah, that's what I smeant Janet. Let me fix that.

Janet has used her giant powers before they were disassembled. Personally I prefer her as a giant instead of a wasp.

i think she should be able to do both. the Wasp identity does fit her personality. not to mentiont that she is a white anglo-saxon protestant. i still expect her to start to bloat and for an army of skrull hatchlings to spew out.
