A solid issue all around and I loved the little "tags" that introduced the main characters and showcased their powers or mentioned their status. It's also cool that Skywatch III appears to have some damage and also that they covered the fact that it needs to be periodically recharged using solar energy. The characters had a few good moments and the introduction of Gaia was awesome!
This one is one of the more new reader friendly issues of the World's End storyline as well.

What actually happened in the issue? Was it more of a set up issue? On another board someone referenced this team to being patterned after Warren Ellis Stormwatch, which I think is great! Is the High mentioned in the issue? Definitely excited about this title.

Here's the Wildstorm Wiki entry I did which will tell you more about what happened in the issue:

Yes, the High is mentioned. They mention that they are acutally looking for him. It is a set-up issue of sorts but I thought it was very new reader friendly. It defintely continues to feed off Ellis's Stormwatch. I don't think the title has ever really lost it after his run. Not anything with the name Stormwatch on it anyway.

Agreed. IMO, it had a better feel to it than the other two that I read, Authority and Wildcats..

That said, I hope they address where some missing members are. Blademaster, Strafe, Cannon and Diva have all been missing from the previews I've seen. Unless they were killed during Number opf the Beast, of course.

And I'm curious what Flint is doing back. Gage being Gage will likely address all this, but I'm an instant gratification kinda guy ;)

A little off-topic, but did Doran survive the Number of the Beast series? I know he was destined to die in the Wildstorm Armageddon mini, but he was taking precautions to stay alive. Did it work?

That remains to be seen
