If you could pick a lineup of mutants that would make up a lineup of X-Men out of all the mutants who have never been "official" X-Men in the past (assume pre Uncanny #500 as that list seems likley to become a whole lot smaller), who would you choose?
My lineup would be:
Justice
Firestar
Sunspot
Monet
Wolfsbane
Adam X
Rockslide
Dust
Please note, for all you nit pickers out there, that I am operating under the preposition that Monet's one mission with the X-Men does not count as "official" membership status.

I honestly wouldn't at this point. After Messiah complex, they have to focus on their core group now.
I think there were so many "new x-men" that unless you've been an avid reader for the past 5 years, you're lost.

It was a hypothetical. I am just asking which New Mutants/Gen Exers/New X-Man you feel deserve a shot at the lime light.
I was not insinuating that anything was wrong with the current line up.

Just to warn you, you'll probably get a slew of big bad posters shouting you down for not using the search function and finding the dozens of other topics that have cropped up over the months about this very same thing...

I can handle that.
After I started the thread, I realized that my query probably wasn't "different" enough to warrant its own thread. But oh well, a mod can move it if they like.

It's happened to me a couple of times so no big deal. You had a question and you posted it. Nothing wrong with that. That's what the Moderators do; keep threads together and keep everyone civil and they do a good job of that.

While its a hypothetical, I wouldn't. I don't think a new X-Men group is necessary at the moment. There are virtually no evil mutants to battle against, and any new group might as well join the primary group since the threat of extinction is very real at this point. Also considering the state of affairs within the Marvel Universe there is very little a second team can accomplish without bringing the weight of the rest of the Marvel Universe on themselves. They can't go be a rogue superhero group unless they are registered and even then, that means being split up into the Initiative program. So very few if any middle of the city brawls with former Avenger villains. Space seems like its being slowly quieted, I mean you already have one group of X'ers fighting the Shi'ar, and another group already doing the reality Sliders thing... and with Cable possible becoming a on going, maybe a mutants in the Future book.
Besides most Next Gen books usually revolve around coping with ones powers, and dealing with the realities of life as either a woman, a mutant or both. Love, Sex and Hate should not be the primary requirements for creating a on going book.
